Ridenton poor, Agree Arroyo needs Wessi ( where is the injury replacement Laurie) better without Boogard, pick Bobby FFS, put JK at right back, push Millar forward and move Hoff to the left in place of misFitz

I think Ridenton has a great football brain but lacks the level of technical ability to pull off some of the things he tries. There were times last night where he had the ball, turned and you could clearly see him SEE the play unfolding and attempt a pass... which then went to Perth.
Watching the game again, not sure how anyone can say we played poorly. Disappointed with the result? Absolutely. But our movement especially up front & with Uga pushing through from our half was outstanding.
It Farken peeves me no end when people just hang shit on players/coach/club because it’s the in thing to do, rather than assessing each player without a preconceived idea on how they’ll play. Ridenton & JK had one of the hardest tasks in the league last night restricting Castro & CI, both put in a shift & did a solid job. 1 goal conceded from a goal mouth scramble against that forward line is a terrific result.
Up front, every positive movement forward came through Fitz channel. Should of had a penalty. Links well with Dimi & Arroyo & gets behind the line as good as anyone. Finishing needs to improve but I also don’t think any were gimmes.
Great involvement from Arroyo, Uga was terrific, Moss pulled off a couple of tremendous saves also. Backline was solid.
I enjoyed watching us play yesterday. I don’t think we’re too far off.
5 Your points on Sugar
What he got now 3 goals in 5 years here so he ain't much use in front of goal
My main issue is he constantly fails to do his job as a DM
We conceeded so much possession and territory in that game down to our midfield not controlling the game
The bloke is constantly exposed as not being anything without Kanta by his side
This constantly keeps happening with this bloke yet people still want to sing his praises
What exactly great did he do yesterday besides have our side playing on the counter getting put under defensive pressure from minute 1 and keeping our attackers running around chasing the opposition all day??
If that is considered a good performance from him then got help us as it made his teammates jobs infinitely harder
So who plays striker now the one we found is not available next week?
JK is a fine MF and serviceable CB....he is not a LB. I don't want to see the kid ruined.
It took him all of the first 30 seconds of the game to perform his first turnover among many. He is as weak as water on the ball and couldn't tackle my 14 year old niece. He is poor every game and the only he is a professional footballer is because Ernie has a soft spot for him.
I doubt any other club in the league would take him if we offered him up.
I can see him being another Nick Cowburn. And that is the second time this season he has been caught out by a diagonal over his head to someone tracking behind. This led to the scramble and goal.
He did same against Roar last season and if he is staying there is a fault that needs to be fixed. True his overall game was better yesterday.
That is also a reflection on the poor coaching is Oz
They treat Fullback as an after thought and just dump any guy in there
GVE done it with Matt Thompson and Dappuzzo
Arnie does it with Blue Aids and now Socceroos picking Zullo and Rhyan Grant etc
We have had Hoffman Lachlan Jackson Cowburn Brillante Pepper etc play there over the years also
It is a specialist role and influences your attack and defence
Look at how much the Scousers get out of Robertson and Alexander Arnold in both attack and defence in their success of late
Don't agree with most of this. His tackling is better than most, his engine is superb, he reads the game well enough also.
His weaknesses IMO are that he can't move the ball quickly enough (hence why he gets caught on the ball) and he lacks composure.
We play without a defined DM role, those two just move independently to close up spaces. It works sometimes, and other times a team will wait for us to move and then take the space we've left. But we don't have a fit Kanta to sit in front of the back 4 and defend for 90 mins so Ernie is just hoping we can create turnovers further up the pitch and get that ball forward quickly. Look at us once we get pegged back and have to defend in a low block. Everyone runs around aimlessly chasing the ball. That's not Ridentons fault. He's doing his job fine at the moment. He just looks poor sometimes cause he's beside one of the best in Uga and he gets caught with the ball which looks very very amateurish.
So some questions on this issue
How many times did he get caught on the ball
How many times did he give away possession
Where on the field also are these things happening
Because I backing the numbers or significance is anywhere near as high or as large as the Ridenton fanboys are claiming
I actually think his failings as a left back, goal keeper, right winger and striker are why we are poor.
You are mixing up the term "our best player" with "top quality player". Those two things are vastly different.
But Uga is easily our best player right now. He's first name on the teamsheet each week. Also, he is a box to box mid, he's never been a DM. We don't play for control, we play for turnovers and scoring on transition. Ernie has always done it that way.
