Sydney with a penalty to make it 1-1. The message finally got to Cairns...
Victory gone...
High time the FFA actually stopped rigging the draw for this
The people are enjoying the NPL v HAL clashes
The ****ers at FFA HQ are doing draws to limit these clashes
How about next year
Rd 32 all 10 HAL teams play an NPL team ??
Then we have a random draw for Rd 16 onwards
Magic would be disappointed with the defeat.
Had a few chances. Going in 1-0 at half time would’ve been a massive boost for them. Maj missed a header from 6yds out. He’d normally bury it.
Also, I'd like to announce to the forum that after years of waiting, GazFish has paid me the tenzo chicken wings I was owed - thought it as substituted for a can of beer last night.
I was satisfied with this trade because it meant I could catch up with Gaz.
For those wondering, it was a XXXX.
This matter has been resolved.
I don't think it does jeterpool. Plague is right
XXXX is piss
remember those chicks at the tenzo?
I'd drink a XXXX just to see them bounce again
That precisely thge idea
Get the HAL teams out to play NPL sides and stop rigging it so two HAL sides like us and Heart are forced to play one another which is actually just denying somne of the NPL sides who have made it to Rd 32 Rd 16 etc an opportunity to play a big team before their fans etc
I think this is a really good point and I totally agree.
In its foundations i think it needed that interest from clubs to be able and somewhat likely to progress into the next round. But I think all clubs can see the value in it now and would be jumping at the chance to play an a league team.
Thanks.
Initially the idea would have been to get as many non-A-League sides as deep into the competition as they could, evidenced by the fact the draw was planned so at least one made the semi-final. Now it's not seen as a foregone conclusion the A-League teams win and more a reward to play them (financially and in terms of exposure) than a punishment.
I suppose the counter-argument will be "who has an interest in an all A-League semi final" but realistically the Semi Final is played when the A-League season has started anyway and it brings it's own challenge around managing and extra midweek game round or two.
If this change is made, the next logical step for me is to put some reward on winning the comp - like a spot in an FFA Charity Shield (against the Grand Final winners - or League winners/2nd place if the same) and eventually an ACL spot.
I think the next step of the FFA Cup should be expanding to a national round of 64.
Or at minimum a national qualifying round.
For example the qualifying round would be 44 federation member Clubs with 22 winners going into the round of 32 with the 10 A-League Clubs.
The two pot draw really should be a thing of the past.
I'd rather see a seeded draw and an actual set bracket for at least the Round of 16 onwards, if not Round of 32.
That way everything is clear and in black and white and there can be no claims of fixed "random" draws
Good to see Sydney handed yet another tough fixture.
Sydney v Citeh final planets are aligning.
The fact WSW have taken barely any games to Penrith is a bit of a joke. Especially while their stadium is being renovated.
Grant’s hair. FMD.
Anyone watching the final tonight?
it's on one of the screens in front of me yes
hardly the most promoted game of the season now is it? I only realised it was on today when I looked up something else on the telstra football app
Goody goal that one!
I miss having Goodwin at the Jets
jeez I hate Sydney
How good does Gillet appear to reffing without VAR hanging over him?
exactly as shit and Sydney biased as usual
its kind of sad seeing Brilliante turn from a once promising footballer into nothing but a hacking disruptor.
I cant see how anyone would enjoy their football being told to carry on like that.
