100% agree with this. I've written a longer more ranty post in regards to this before. 100 people who have forum accounts (unsure of correct total) can't keep the club running. If a bunch of people started coming Because of Hesky for eg I'm glad they did and I hope they are still part of the 8000 odd who turn up each week
People on here aren't a good indication of the club or even attendance. I've been to one game at Stade de Newy in over 2 years. plague always watches from a casino when we win and only shows up when we lose. There are people that live in other countries that post here regularly(ish).
PS, pv4, come to Newcastle DG league day at Rathmines this Sunday.
i'm a firm believer that you earn the right to bitch about the team only if you purchase the cheapest membership you can charge to your wife's credit card without her noticing
I thought we were all the members multis. doesn't the world exist so he can have somebody to argue with?
The stronger clubs already have an advantage with the 2 Marquee system anyway.
The weaker clubs can go put someone on 300-500k outside the cap
The stronger clubs can put their money on a player and put someone on 1-2 million outside the cap
Build your club well and you can still up that to 3-4 million
That is giving a sizable advantage to those bigger clubs anyway as they are looking at better calibre of Marquees than the weaker clubs
Add in the fact that how do you determine well run clubs.
Victree in a city of 5 million have 20k of Members after years of success. To me they are still underachieving and should have bigger crowds but as the biggest club have an advantage
Perth and Heart are not well run clubs either and have the advantages based on their owners deep pockets
Smurfs are a basket case propped up by wealthy owners
WSW are well run but should have more members than they do considering their success and catchment area
Here you go you have clubs with significant advantages already they have not earned but are enjoying the fruits of as they have a wealthy owner or are based in large cities
Opportunities that are denied to a club like Adelaide who is well run as an example
Ah the old trickle down economics myth...
