All the talk about Barbarouses is that he'll be returning to Victory, but surely Roar, Gypos and us would all be in talks to sign him.
Especially since Ernie was a big part of him returning to the Nix in 2016, and Kosta only seemed to start having "non-football issues" once Ernie resigned.

Signing Petratos certainly changes our recruitment for the remaining squad places. You would think the last 2 Visa places go to the LW position an either CB or DM. Considering the lack of Australian talent available grabbing Petratos now is a win.
If Kokko is released then will be interesting to see if the replacement striker is a visa player also and what we are willing to spend considering Kokko's salary. Andrija Kaluderovic, who scored 5 goals in 10 at the Roar under Mulvey, is apparently looking for offers in Australia. Was top scorer in Lithuania last season and currently in Thailand. Could be worth a look

Much better decision if that was the case. Aussie marquee with no need for a visa spot. There were solid rumours flying around with Merrick's appointment that he would come too. Although you would think the way Petratos seems to be pretty much a done deal that Tony Rallis reached out to us to see if the deal was still there before approaching his Korean club for a release.
The timing of the Kokko story is interesting as well. Like the Jets are trying to hurry up the process as it didn't need to be said in public.
