Also a French citizen to get the bullets tonight and not a word about him in French media!!!.....
The NEWS coverage of these two convicted drug runners
Turned on the news this morning and get confirmation the two have got their punishment.
Dimwit reporters talking about them using words like Brave and treating the two of them as some ****ing heroes
These dumb **** lefty apoligists not able to take in the fact that they are both ADMITTED CONVICTED DRUG TRAFFICKERS who were only getting their come uppance?? Same two ****s who if they had of got away with it would not have given two ****s about any of the people the product they supplied effected whilst they were counting their cash.
Then the dumb ****s have the audacity to criticise a foreign countries judicial system for dealing out in their words "harsh and cruel punishment" to deal with the drug issue in that country.
Take it they are quite happy with this countries judicial system where Rape and Murder etc see you get 3-5 years and a slap on the wrist.
Then don't get me started on this pea brains holding candlelight vigils
Same dimwits who won't speak up about the persecution and oppression of many innocent people on this planet based on differing religion
If the bogans had any balls they would have all cancelled their holidays and ruined Bali.
Nobody will give a shit this time next week.
It was last night there was one news story that was about Victoria reviewing its parole rules, and looking into what is essentially locking people up and throwing away the key, taking away the individual's life .
And the next was about these rehabilitated drug smugglers who shouldn't have their lives taken away.
I now don't know if we as a country, or if the media are just hypocrites, believe in rehabilitation or not
Fair Punishment???
So you wish to debate whether this was fair??
Well lets forget the bleeding obvious that there are piles of signs at Denpasar Airport advising against the activity, The Australian Government Travellers website provides plenty of information advising on doing this activity, lets also ignore the fact it is pretty much common knowledge that Sth East Asia has the death penalty for drugs.
So ignorance on the part of these two can't really be used.
I suppose you have never attended a hospital in the middle of the night to see someone you know be resuscitated 3 times and then sit with them in the morning as they suffered through a hell of an ordeal whilst the effects of their drug overdose are in effect and then see no punishment taken for the halfwit who decided to give a 16 year old kid looking to experiment with drugs and have a good time as kids do a drug that had not even been produced correctly and had infact been tampered with by having chemicals that should never have even been in it present.
Fair punishment they are still living the good life whilst if it wasn't for medical technology the person I know would have been in the morgue that morning and not going home 48 hours later
I suppose we can now debate whether a foreign country should actually have the right to make a decision on what laws and punishments they wish to have on their society or whether they should have to be doing what a country at the arse end of the world feels it should.
Me I am of the opinion that Indonesia or any other country for that matter is entitled as a sovereign state to make their own laws and punishments.
Apparently that makes me a Bogan for having little time for drugs and those scum who choose to profit from it.
Over to you Parkesy to elaborate as to why they are not entitled to do so and should run their country how people thousands of kilometres away think they should and to also elaborate why these two have been hard done by for being punished for their crime.
To be honest, it doesn't matter if we think the punishment is fair or not, it's not up to us. The Indonesian Courts and/or Government have decided it is in their country. You go to their country, their rules apply. End of discussion.
im not sure what makes one a bogan but:
i dont think agreeing with the punishment makes you a bad person (some people prob have legit reasons).
i do think that celebrating someone getting executed makes you a bit odd in my book.
also, just to be clear are you anti death penalty as a whole, or just for drug smugglers?
do you think the boston bombers/911 architects etc should be executed?
not judging, just wondering tis all.
cheers.
i'm anti-death penalty.
also, i had a response to mkfs typed up but the forum died and i lost it. so, in summary: no one has asked for leniency based on ignorance, it has been on humanitarian grounds. leaning on hypotheticals is stupid; these people were caught, they were imprisoned and the drugs were confiscated.
for me, if all you can point to is "those big signs" and "my mate almost died from drugs" as your reasoning for the acceptance this verdict, you just don't get it. there is no part of me that can justify those guys being put to death for what they did.
I am a bit of a fence sitter in this whole situation. The death penalty and particularly the way they do it, i do not agree with.
What gets me is this "brave" label and the discussion of a minute silence... A minutes silence, really?
I did a minutes silence on the weekend, FOR ****ING ANZAC DAY! Real brave men and women who have fought for our freedom, lost their lives so we could live ours and some genius came up with the idea to show these low life drug trafficking scum similar? GTFO!
I actually agree with the 2nd sentence, I think the compassion for these two came from the fact they didn't 'directly' kill anyone. Individuals still had a choice to make whether they brought and used the drugs these blokes smuggled.
On the other hand I have zero sympathy for your Martin Bryants/Ted Bundys/Boston Bombers.
Wouldn't bother me a bit if they fried in a chair tbh.
Just further on this:
A lot of the talk for clemency was that they were 'rehabilitated'.
Does anyone know for sure whether or not they co-operated with the fuzz and grass up the people further up the drug chain?
I never heard anything about any syndicates being 'smashed' because of their info.
Always bothered me that if they were intent on being anti-drugs now that they would have done everything possible to get drugs off the streets.
Anyone know?
