yeah i heard he was on his way to fulham a few weeks back. good move for him.
I wouldn't have thought Taggs would qualify for a work permit in the UK as yet. Am hoping he signs with Fulham and is loaned back to us for next season to play in the Asian Cup and up his NT games percentage.
Taggart never had a release claws, he had a $400,000Aud transfer celling. Which basically means if a club were interested the Jets management couldn't negotiate a transfer fee higher then $400,000. They didn't have to sell him for that amount but they couldn't negotiate for a higher fee.
Know it's not all about height, but taggz is taller than timmy. At only 21, he'll fill out a bit this year I reckon.
Anyone have any news on Burns? Seem to remember seeing that we were interested in him and that he had left Incheon but haven't heard and I can't anything about it since then
I wonder who the two players are foti mentioned?
Surely we are close to announcing someone.... Wasn't there something written the other day that said we are pretty much ready to announce the south american forward along with a european midfielder?
Every time I see the Jerks update their facebook, or this thread gets bumped, I get so upbeat before reading it as I'm just expecting them to announce their 2-3 signings they've promised. Then when I realise it's another Con-blown-away moment, I die on the inside a little more each time.
Maybe we had to wait for the South American striker to complete his World Cup commitments ???
:blah:
Taggz is off to Fulham
Quote:
The Newcastle Jets have agreed a transfer for Socceroos striker Adam Taggart to join English Championship Club Fulham FC.
Taggart leaves the Jets after two seasons in the Hunter, during which time he scored 18 goals in 44 appearances.
The 21-year-old enjoyed a stellar 2013/14 campaign for Newcastle, scoring 16 goals to win the Hyundai A-League’s Golden Boot Award while also being named the NAB Young Footballer of the Year.
Taggart, who is currently with the Australian team competing at the 2014 FIFA World Cup in Brazil, said he was excited by the new challenge ahead of him.
“I’d like to thank everyone at the Newcastle Jets, including the players, staff and fans for their fantastic support over the past couple of seasons,” Taggart said.
“I’ve had two really enjoyable years at the Jets and for that reason I will always hold the Club and City of Newcastle close to my heart.
“I’m looking forward to starting a new chapter in my career with Fulham and working hard to take my game to another level.”
Jets CEO Robbie Middleby wished Taggart well with his move to Europe.
“At the Newcastle Jets we take pride in our ability to develop young talent and give them a platform to showcase their ability in the A-League,” Middleby said.
“Adam has been a great servant of the Jets during his time at the Club and we’ll continue to follow his progress with great interest during this next stage of his career and beyond.
“This move is a fantastic opportunity for Adam to join a Club with a proud history in English football and we wish him all the best at Fulham.”

Thanks for the goals
Hopefully this means a better quality fridge magnet and the restoration of the expected thickness of the membership cards
Playing here got him to the world cup....I think another 2/3 years to establish himself as a star in the A-league would have been beneficial to him. He is still very young and the championship is going to be a huge challenge. When you look at his 45 minutes this am I fear for him. Good luck to him but really not convinced it's the right choice (Maybe financially it is).
