What seems apparent is the club allowing the news of Carney wanting a release to be broadcasted probably means that the club has slim to no desire or believed ability to demand a transfer fee from him, and thus must be letting him leave for free to clear up wages. If they wanted to sell, and get a fee for, him they wouldn't have let his desires become public knowledge - as that gives them far less a standing point in negotiations.
But really, we all know that Middleby actually pays other clubs to take our players off our books. So the idea of us getting paid for any player is laughable in the first place.

The only real issue I have with them is when they drop an already released rumour, claim it as their own breaking story, etc. Also at times they can get quite aggressive towards people on social media.
But apart from that, they're pretty legit.
Aren't we saying the same thing? I wasn't implying they make up stories, just that what is reported on that show doesn't eventuate a lot of the time.
