Was good to see griffo actually get involved in the game!!
The Sunday Telegraph just can't seem to let the "truth" get in the way of a good story. Little article in there today about this game and mentions that "....a flare was thrown onto the FIELD". I'd love to know where they got this info as I clearly remember the flare not being thrown onto the field at all. I was in the Western stand and it looked like Timmy V had grabbed the flare while still in the bay and taken it over to a security personnel who took it behind the southern end.
Yes a flare was lit by some idiot but at least report the truth and don't try to over-dramatise the incident by writing that it was thrown onto the field.....anti-sockah smellygraph!!!
Was clear from western stand the squadron were giving the guy who did this up. Bet it's league fans who want "soccah" to have negative media coverage infiltrating games.
I heard it was a journalist from the Herald!!
Flare = Fukwit
As for the game, same old same old, Adelaide were so bad made us look good, thinking a slow downward spiral for them, been up too long but I thought it would happen a bit later in the season, best moment for me was Bridgey coming on, memories of Sasho, total love in, but even Sasho wouldn't be able to score under GVE.
And as for those who think the cheers were for Brown going off, WRONG
Brillante hasn't won me over yet. He gave the ball away 4 or 5 times in the first 15 minutes in this game, got better as the game wore on but he has a bad habit of turning into players as does Gallaway. I also think Brillante at this stage of his career is better suited as a RB or LB. Pepper was coming along fine in this role last season, seems that Brillante is above him now in the pecking order.
I thought he did Ok considering that is not his position.
I said it elsewhere in here, credit to the squadron for getting rid of the flare and self policing in outing the idiot who bought it in.[/QUOTE]
Wrong Person was Blamed for the Flare... Cameras dont lie.....
Brilliante was Brilliant-aye
Whats wrong with flares?
For a start the powers that be have put them on the prohibited list for entry to the stadiums on the basis that they present a safety risk. So point blank fans ain't allowed them in the ground on legal grounds.
Secondly the smoke can have effects on people nearby particularly with any respiratory issues
Thirdly the flare can possible malfunction and cause injury to the person ripping it or possibly others nearby.
Other than that they can provide colour and excitement but no matter how much we want them we ain't ever gonna be allowed them.
PS On another note Cracker Night should be brought back. Bag of crackers walking around the nearby neighbourhood one winters night each year blowing shit up!!! **** the RSPCA having to chase pets for the next week who ran off, **** the hospitals who had a bit of work treating the idiots who hung on to something for too long, **** the Firies who had to work for the night instead of kipping at the station.
Great way for the kids to let off steam and Darwins theory of evolution was allowed to operate without restriction where the dumb ****s in society lost fingers!!!
CRACKER NIGHT to RETURN
The funniest part was when they tried to put it in a bucket of water to extinguish it. Marine flares are marine flares for a reason.....
I wonder if Timmy will appogize for accusing the wrong person, he was pointed out and blamed when innocent... Poor Form from all involved.
And whats the go with everyone dobbing on everyone, Wrong person with the Flare, Drummer got moved on, Dickheads throwing beers at Timmy and the Drummer.. SHIT GO.. were all there to support the Jets, lets also support eachother....
