Wow...even Gooder second goal.
This is very entertaining and great atmos.
how is Grant still on the pitch?
if that's not Sydney bias then what the **** is?
wow, SYDNEY DIDN'T GET GIVEN THE TROPHY
There has to be something for them to whine about.
Yeah but how bout that sweet sweet undisclosed transfer fee we got for Goodwin.
Now, lemme say this whilst I look to the skies and pray that Griff hears my words.
But.
Do ya think the Double-eff-aye learned anything from the final?
The future of the A-league is 15k 'boutique' stadiums with access to big venues for marquee matches.
Adelaide has it, Melbourne has it, Sydney will never get it because they are stupid but there is a perfect opportunity to build a venue for Brisbane if they ever get a 2nd team.
Also, never let Sydney have a home game, ever.
They are the perfect draw card for away teams to turn up and boo, plus no one goes to their games anyway.
Plus the state govt can save about a billion not building them a new ground.
That billion will buy many jets shaped hats and statues of Griff.
Agree...often think all Socceroos games, apart from the really big ones, should be played away from the thunderdomes.
I've been saying this for some time now that we need to look at the MLS and the market research they have done in the states.
Boutique stadiums in the CBD of cities is what we should be looking at, a 15k-18k seat capacity stadium in Newcastle. Broadmedow is not Newcastle.
Who cares if people miss out on tickets because they want to attend 1 game every 5 years when we make the finals. Smaller Stadiums make for a greater demand for tickets, greater demand in tickets mean people buy tickets earlier thus making the demand for tickets higher the research is there. Everytime I say this someone pops up and says what about growth.
In close to 15 years we have been floating around 10k average crowds, 18k gives us room for growth. Growth is not the above average 1 off 20k crowd every now an then. Growth is steadily building your market and catering best to that market. Catering best to that market is 10k-12k people in an intimate boutique stadium surround by bars and restaurants creating a match day atmosphere far better than 10k-12k people in a 33K seat white castle in the suburbs surrounded by houses were the atmosphere gets lost in a half empty stadium.
Marty and the Gypo should be doing everything possible to make this happen because it's where our future should be.
the 'growth' is in TV figures.
Tuesdays nights game was a cracker to watch, based just off the atmosphere created by 14k serial killers.
more people gonna wanna see that on TV than the boring echo of yet another 5k crowd in a 40k stadium.
TV money is what fuels the game, make the TV product good, people will tune in.
and dont worry, once our light rail takes us all from our front doors to the stadium, it wont matter where it is. as much as id love a cool little stadium right on the harbour it aint gonna happen. the 'stadium trust' crooks* made sure they were never giving up their scam for the greater good.
Broadmeadow it is, and always will be.
*i think most of these people are now dead or in jail so they cant sue me for libel.
The HAL model is flawed idea of Lowy and co
The idea of playing at Allianz Suncorp Stade de Newy etc in these giant white elephants shows the ****s have no idea
They are not catering to football fans who are happy to go watch a game in whatever the stadia looks like but more the McDonald Brat family generation
We should all be in 15k seater stadium period maybe with the exception of Vartree
As for the Cup the fact that this game was on midweek 2 rds into the HAL says all that needs to be said about the clowns running the gamer
That was a very good game to watch yet these cunce have hidden it from view to the masses by their incompetence of not showcasing this competition appropriately
This comp is a great selling point for our game going forward
