The rest though, I say fair play to clubs with enough money and in particular the right people pulling the strings (read: Anthony de Pietro, Tony Pignata, John Tsatsimas) to make this kind of shit happen.
Although it IS hard not to feel somewhat salty about Cahill & City. The FFA help subsidise a lot of marquee players, including Heskey for us (they subsidised part of ADP, Heskey & Ono's wages that season as they validated the spend as marketing for the league which tbf it was), but to make this "Marquee Fund" that was meant to be league-wise and only went to Cahill & City, and then basically restrict its use so only about a dozen blokes globally could qualify for it (read: genuine EPL star), for the other AL clubs it's a bit hard to be overly happy with how this has all gone down.
