Whenever I ask people who dislike Jones "Why". It's normally either, that he belt the shit out of a loudmouth local player or that he upset too many women he used to coach here. Don't think either of these reasons should stop him coaching Jets. Heard he's shortening in the betting.
Didn't Jones try to under Culina when he was signed as manager instead of Jones?
Getting away from Jones talk, what are peoples thoughts on the other options being bandied about?
Arthur Papas
Mark Rudan
Damien Mori
John Kosmina
Ricki Herbert
Frank Farina
Mike Mulvey
Aurelio Vidmar
Another NPL coach in waiting could be John Anastasiadis. Been at Bentleigh Greens in Victoria and 8 of his former players are currently playing for a-league clubs.
A coach in Malaysian 2nd division? Nope.
Pep Gombau
van Gaal is available
I'm still available.
My fee is increasing every day.
I'm going with Aurelio
I'm going with baldrick. I'm pretty sure he'll have a cunning plan. Probably involving a turnip.
Have heard from 2 totally different sauces that Jones is the man.
Not writing him off as not being up to the job but once again we seem to be taking a gamble with someone who is unproven at this level as a Head coach if it is indeed true.
Mark Jones can eat a massive pile of Doodles.
That said i don't see any coaches coming in and taking us to the finals so let's just start rebuilding for next year.
I honestly wouldn't care if he puts some Chinese hack who doesn't speak a lick of English. We've wasted another pre season, we are going to have another coach who wants to come and change people and by the time they complete said changes they would have been sacked and we start again. No coach is going to make much difference at this stage, heck if there was ever a time when i'd be keen for the Griff it's now. We don't have anything left to lose other than finishing below the Scum.

Griff as coach, firstly what credentials has he got and secondly in reading one of his articles a few months back he made it pretty obvious he was not keen on getting into coaching.
Sure we don't have one of the strongest squads on paper but it is decent enough with a good balance, probably fair to say stronger then last year. I think this whole thing about a coach needing "his squad" is just a myth and an excuse that shit coaches peddle in order to cover up their inadequacies. A good coach can assess very quickly the strengths and weaknesses of his team both collectively and individually and if he is smart enough and adaptable enough he can play the team to those strengths.
