This would be the first year we've had so many quality attacking players since season 2.

Well we have been complaining for years about lack of creativity and goals particularly at home games... certainly shouldnt be an issue this year!
That's all well and good, but when we need to park the bus and defend a lead, we'll only have one of those SMART cars…
I think/hope if he stays injury free this will be Kanta's biggest year yet.
The poor kid has only had 11 appearance's in the last 2 seasons due to injury and its easy to forget his still only 22.
GK: Biraz, BK, Solari
RB: Neville, Pepper, Gallaway, Hoole
CB: Jaliens, Madaschi, Regan, Gallagher
LB: Goodwin, Carney, Gallaway, Gallagher
CM: Kanta, Steele, Pepper, Ox, Cooper
RM: Griff, Hoole, Virgili, Baressi
CAM: Flores, Baressi, Ox, Cooper
LM: Carney, Goodwin, Steele, Jeronimo, Lundy
ST: Montano, Jeronimo, Griff
Taken the liberty of including a few more people to potential covering positions.
Add in a quality CM/CDM and I'm so, so confident for this season.
Kanta injury free is more than enough quality and dominance in the middle of the park.
That right there is the reason why we should sign someone instead of relying on him. I think most agree that the kid has got loads of talent, and if he does stay consistently healthy he could be one of our best players. But, when the kid is so injury prone I would rather sign someone else for re-assurance, that way 10 games into the season we aren't left with a mediocre DM

A Reds source declared that discussions over a proposed move had been "on-going for some time" and that a deal was now close to be finalised for Neumann, who is contracted to Adelaide until the end of the 2014-2015 season.
It is understood 28 year-old Neumann is keen to secure his future, with the Jets offering a multi-year deal.
"It's not the club's policy to stand in the way of a player who can legitimately establish a longer term future elsewhere and this is where we find ourselves in relation to Jeronimo," the Reds source said.
The source insisted, though, that a deal had not yet been fully ratified.
Neumann, who joined Adelaide in August 2012, made an indelible impression at Coopers Stadium, scoring 16 goals in 51 appearances and catching the eye with some superb strikes and an ability to improvise in tight situations.
If the move goes ahead it will be just the latest capture for the Jets, who earlier this week announced the arrival of former Young Socceroos defender Sam Gallagher on a one-year deal.
Former A-League player of the year Marcos Flores, Northern Ireland international Jonny Steele, former Socceroos defender Adrian Madaschi and attacking midfielder Joshua Barresi have also been added to the playing group since Stubbins took the helm.
good to see we have actually used our visa spots on players who are going to start and not fill up squad spots.

Confirmed now
Jeronimo is a great signing for the Jets. Proven performer at A-league level and he would not have broken the bank either.
If this doesnt bring Argy back to Jets games nothing will ffs
lol remember this

In what could be the biggest recruitment coup in the A-League’s short history, Colombian World Cup hero Carlos Valderrama has announced his interest in coaching Newcastle Jets.
This is it for me.
He knows where the net is, and is a proven, known quantity. He has pace too, like Gallaway.
The only concern for me is that refs may be aware of his tendancies to excentuate contact, which could be an issue. In saying that, we need players who have the nous to win free kicks in the fromt third; something we haven't really done in the past.
According to the Herald, we are not only trialling Ward, we are also trialling Blacktown City midfielder Kearyn Baccus.
And that an experienced DM is also to be signed.
