Mateo Poljak joined WSW on 13 August 2012. Surely he can become an Australian citizen soon?
La Rocca arrived in Australia at the same time than Poljak (La Rocca actually signed for WSW after Poljak) and got citizenship in November. He is eligible to play for Socceroos and not a visa player anymore for Adelaide since then. You would think we could have thought that one ahead for Poljak!!!... Not the Jets of course...:soapbox:
Bulut released.

Rumour is that Bridge is going back to WSW... no Bridge for us, not that he ever seemed a likely option.
No Bulut, No Bridge, No foreigner..... only donkeys left... Jets :soapbox:
Babal
Bulut can't get a start at a club who's failing to score goals and is currently below the Jets on the ladder.
Bridge wouldn't make any sense for the Jets either. He'd want massive money and doesn't offer anything the Jets need.
A quality right or left back is what the Jets need. Get that shit sorted and it takes the pressure off the players up front leaving them to score goals.
Nothing against Hoff or Vujic but I still see them as one dimensional and just a shade short of the class the Jets require to be top four material.
I remember reading poljak can in february. Not sure why different from la rocca
Lets get fair dinkum splash some cash and make a play for Rukavystka or Burns.
I wouldn't say left or right back are necessities for us.
A better option up front is a bigger priority
A better option out wide up front is a bigger priority
What is a number one priority is a better cm partners for Sugar than Poljak, Kantarovski or Brown
Quality in the guts of the field is a bigger priority than these two positions
As for Vujica. Why the hate?? The bloke is 5x The left back Cowburn is
I agree, we had a top quality striker and wide player the last 3 games and we would have won them all comfortably by 2-3 goals easily.
Doubt whether a "better" RB or LB would have made much difference.
Okay we've re-signed Brown and S.ugar, I would keep Poljak based on recent performances as I think he is now in his peak years (as long as it is at the right price). Can't afford to re-sign Kanta, would be madness to sign a player who is injury-prone year after year.
This is one of our better squads of recent years with a good balance, I don't think we need to make drastic changes to start challenging for top four. We have a few players whose careers are on the rise and others who are in their peak years. We just need a couple who are in that top quality bracket of Berisha, Fornaroli, Castro, Ninkovic and probably another couple the likes of a Brosque, Jakobsen, Isaias, Dimas.
All that depends on whether Mr Lee will open up the purse strings for next season.
what are peoples thoughts on Nobby for next season? he's gettin up there in age and cant play full games, do we keep him next year as an impact sub or do we look elsewhere for a foreign spot?
what are people groups musings on Nobby for next season? he's getting up there in age and can't play full amusements, do we keep him one year from now as an effect sub or do we search somewhere else for a remote spot?
Paartalu anyone?
Just read the club is close to negotiating Coopers release.
Wonder if our budget of $240k will stretch to two decent players.
The player I would like to see us grab is Giannou from Guangzhou. Australian, not scoring a lot in China and might see his Socceroos chances improve to move away from China. Plus the Ledman link may help
Adam Sarota is a free agent?
That's like saying why would the Jets not want an EPL striker who isn't scoring goals. His goal rate in China is on par with Cahill last season and only 26.
I didn't say it will happen, but if he was willing to take a step down then great.
Strikers in China are paid big dollars to score regularly and when they don't they get discarded quickly. If you can name a better Australian Striker in a league that we could poach I am all ears
Some GPS stats and Mitch close to being released before transfer window:

Nothing from tonight's NBN News report posted on their website, but apart from mention we are now in the hunt for two players during the window (with Bridge still be touted as a target and Jones not ruling him out despite a comment about needing a player with a good injury history - do weak ankles count?? ;) ), there was a mention of Victory looking forward to doing us over the same way they dealt with the Gyppos, and considering our inability to deal with softer teams like Phoenix it's a bit of a worry we could be in for a hiding if we let the Tards score soft goals like we invited Wello to, it's not like we've been scoring six a game, we struggled to equalise and didn't look like going ahead when we finally did break even, unless it's 90 min of end to end I'm a bit concerned Victory will be a yardstick for us one way or the other, worried it will be the other...
No NBN so here's some Herald stuff instead:
Us after bigger scalps:

After watching Victory play the other night we 'should' match up pretty well against them.
Victory we're very very direct and played hit and hope crosses all night.
If Jets can handle the press and play through they'll get lots and lots of open space to attack.
By the way, no one has mentioned it here. Commentators definitely mentioned last game that Ma Lei Lei might be leaving back to China in January. Im also 70% sure something was said about Kokko aswell.
