Apparently, Victory is close to signing Nani who I imagine was one of the 35 players mentioned in this article.

The hope is if they do this, they attract the right players who are still playing consistently unlike Sturridge who since 2018 had only played 17 games and was visibly falling apart.

Sure he's not the most gifted player but he does provide something different and a spark coming off the bench.
I think it speaks to a bigger issue I have with a salary capped league which is the constant rotation of players from club to club. As supporters we have a connection with Yuel, we want to see him do well, he's our player. How many clubs has Sotirio played for in the league? He ain't "our player". We have no connection with him and he's no upgrade on Yuel. Just change fur the sake of it
If they wanna get rid of Yuel, go for it. But go find a replacement in the NPL. Signing Sotirio is a joke

Thought Siatravanis was coming good at the end of the season but probably didn't warrant using a visa spot. Would have been OK with keeping Yuel especially when his rumored replacement isn't that inspiring. Boumal probably on more coin than he was worth.
Boumal surprised me initially - but 4 goals and 1 assist in 20 A-League appearances is probably less than what we need from an import.
That said, he always looked good and I think was starting to link up well with Penha. His control and ability to hold the ball up were excellent, as generally was his ball retention.
He's the only one I am would have hoped we would have signed.
I'm actually surprised it was only 6.
The likes of Kanta and perhaps even Babalj...maybe one of the midfielders from O'Doherty, Al-Taay or Wilson.
If they are going to announce Kanta - as the player with the most appearances for our club in it's history he needs a specific announcement (in my opinion). Give him the respect his contribution deserves.

I totally agree there is a problem here, several of these players got start after start yet showed little and will be extended rather than replaced, while Sotirio will get signed to add to our duds stable, and don't be surprised if we fill other vacancies with uninspiring signings from that same agency to not strengthen the squad at all (they may well have some decent players under their management but they won't be the ones we get stuck with based on our existing signings).Quote:
