Yeah, with the small numbers I suggested the guys to face the players only and direct their voices at them. Normally everybody is facing each and every way so the sound goes everywhere but it seemed reasonable that the players needed to sound more than the crowd did.
Get DJ Stu and Ljubo on the decks and we can rave in bay 2 before every corner or stoppage in play.
Came up with some more traditional football chants to use for Wellissol, Susnjar, Lachie Rose, Eli Adams and Kosta Grozos.
Helps keep the chanting going if you can respond to a good piece of skill on the pitch.
Which other player is going to need one? Aquilina had a shot on target last game
The music for corners has to go - you may struggle to get rid of loud music at other times.
SFC fans complained last week that they tried to do a chant off against the RBB pre game but the loud music meant they could not hear the other side until the game kicked off.
Honest I always say this is a push against traditional support in favour of something more "family friendly".
An example is "Sweet Caroline", pushed not because it has anything to do with football but it is a family singalong and gets us away from horrible things like "The Celery Song" and "Who Are The Scum?"
And yet every second pop song has an Explicit lyric warning.
Sweet Caroline is clearly a creepy old man (neil diamond) singing about a little girl (caroline kennedy - 11 years old at the time the song was written). Not something I'd want to be joining in on in a family singalong.
I'm not sure there is a direct motive to replace something with something more "family friendly". I think it is more a belief amongst media types that you have to be constantly be entertaining people and if there is a break in the entertainment you have to fill it with something.
It would be good to ask the club directly what the motivation for it is. Something maybe the Squadron boys or the Supporters committee can do and feed it back to us.
