this is one of the worst games of football i've ever seen
Hey Plague
This delivery from your mate Mooy ??
****ing useless
Fk off Simon Hill you cvnt. Saying we are hot favourites is the best way to lose.
Speed of the game was awful but ill put 50% of that down to the cow paddock they played on. To play on that to qualify for a World Cup is embarrassing!
Luongo was a standout, Behich too but got tired and faded out of the game.
Honduras were awful. Apparently they are even worse away from home?
They will boot it forward and try to catch us on the break. We shouldn't concede but probably will.
I would like to think we can hit 3 at home!
So is Mooy told to deliver set pieces front stick every single time or does he just lose all crossing ability once he puts the Aussie shirt on?
is juric just a really polite and helpful guy who wants to make life easy for the keeper by always giving it straight to him? 5cm either side of him and he would have scored that header.
seemed like they were playing in treacle, field was shit, ref seems to have come out with chilli in his undies given how quickly he got the angry eyes out. they offered nothing, but we didn't offer much more.
Notice how not one of the peabrains in the media have actually said anything about
1 The fact the 3 at the back actually worked yesterday
2 That if Ange is allegedly leaving the Socceroos didn't exactly play like they were all not on the same page. Cutting edge execution was lacking but it can't be said those blokes were not playing for their manager
I don’t really buy into the Ange stuff. I think he has just taken one for the team to allow the players to focus on the job at hand. His future is probabaly gonna be decided on The outcome of the campaign. If we qualify, he’s done the job. If not, he has failed, see ya later. I think he’s just taken the spotlight to free up the players.
On formation. I think most people will say the issue was not with 3 or 4 or 5 at the back. It was about selection of players that didn’t really suit what we were trying to do. It’s usually put out the favorites and hope they do good.
Our back 3 on Saturday were well supported with defensively minded wingbacks in Risdon and Behich. They were measured in their approach. Whereas usually we have Leckie/Kruse being relied upon in defence.
This team also had Jedinak who despite his fitness concerns, is pretty much a deep DM. And the industrious Irvine forever running and getting stuck in, with Luongo and Mooy in there throwing themselves around.
It’s a team of players that will work hard and get a job done and win those 50/50 balls.
With Kruse/Leckie we instantly have 2 passengers on the fringes when things get a bit gritty.
Personally, I think our performance was due to selection. I’d like to see us set up in a similar way, with maybe Milligan in for Jedinak and I wouldn’t be opposed to the work ethic of Cahill to go hard for 60. Or the last 30.
We need a decent striker quickly. It’s probably something we majorly lack.
Every team we play seems to have a prolific striker, or a player that is just so so dangerous on the counter that makes watching our defence play possession very nerve racking. Juric should be plopping those 1 on 1s all game long. And we should not be relying on an ageing Tim Cahill to provide mongrel.
