Must be a joke
Apparently it isn't
cheap flights on Malaysia Airlines, what could possibly go wrong...
Dave Mitchell needs to FO though, we don't need another long range expensive flight for the teams to have to fund, don't go putting expansion ideas into FFA's head thanks - we might even end up with Stubbins as a coach in the A-League again entertaining shit ideas like that
The Guardian, come on peps are you that gullible.
It was written by Spencer Prior.
Can't, shouldn't and won't happen....we could sacrifice the Mariners franchise though if necessary.
Would open a whole new world of sponsors. Ditch the nix for KL Cavaliers
Well, that would be the aim in my opinion. Get rid of wellington, bring in Malaysia, no cross-confederation dramas, secure another fifa vote for us in the future, bring in a new broadcaster, expand a-league profile in asia. Serious concerns this might actually happen, it would tick a lot of KPI boxes in head office.
TV ratings skyrocket. A few million watching in Malaysia each week I reckon.
Having a Malaysian team in the A League will do nothing for the development our game here. Having one team from NZ, okay fair enough as there is a lot of cross-over between Aussie and Kiwi players which is good for both countries but this is as far as we should go as far as allowing foreign teams playing in our comp.
Knowing FFA they will just look at the $$$ and not be able to see the long-term repercussions that this could have on the game.
The end result would be a whole team which is not playing or developing local players, seeing the plan is to play all local Malaysian players....yet old NSL clubs like South Melbourne in particular who have shown interest in the past of being part of the A League keep getting knocked back.
OK - what if a Malaysian owner now comes in and offers $10 million for the Jets license? How secure would we feel?
If this is a "new" entity then explore further - if it is an opportunity to offload franchises, a la NBL, then no.
why are we dismissing New Guinea

Wow. Would be huge if it happens. Predict that it would sell out in 0.64 seconds.

Wonder if Perth's new stadium will be ready by then? Shoe in if Melbourne can't come together
