@JasonTeixeira2 @vitorsaba @NewcastleJetsFC @SydneyFC verbal offer. Jets have made formal offer
Saturday and sunday the 20/21 June is the round of 32
This is according to the NPL draw which has that weekend off for the games. Just looked it up, that must be northerns qualifying games.
Round of 32 is late July. My apologies.
Gosford away in July!
And that would leave only one visa spot left if montano's staying!
So stubbins is really just on a holiday while he's making the rest of the squad train!
Does an OS MQ count in the 5 visa spots? Or are they completely exempt?
If we have put an offer into Saba then you would think the overseas recruiting trip is to replace Montano and likely to be the marquee (if legit). Yes its included in the foreign quota.
Also its unlikely SFC will make an offer considering they are trying to re-sign all their foreign contingent.

July -August .......Coast away tuesday or wednesday night... perfect
The whole Sydney link makes me less confident in the link all together.
You would hope Saba second time around in the a-league would be more hungry to prove himself considering he failed wankerers. Certainly has the talent I think to dominate in this league, not sure he has the composure or enough discipline tho.
We'd be making a huge mistake getting rid of Montano, and if it really comes down to him or Saba I'm picking Montano. He realistically got 7 goals last season if the linesmen against Wanderers wasn't an idiot, factor that into missing some shots he probably could've netted and in my opinion he easily could have had 12 odd goals this season which is solid.
Add that into the fact that he is just a genuinely good player and I see no reason to get rid of him
Only keep him if we're gona give him someone to play from or play to, IMO he's alot like a Heskey type player but he cant do it standing alone up front, MacLaren is making his mind up whether to goto melb or the jets in the next few weeks and is after game time, the jets can offer him that game time, and play him off montano like a heskey and fowler/owen combo and he can bang quite a few in. Thats just my opinion anyway
Montano is one of those players that seems to divide opinion, either your a big fan of him or you think he is useless...doesn't seem to be too much middleground. I've seen enough of him this season to see that he has a lot to offer and has the potential to be a >10 goals per season striker in the A League, but like with everything at this club, so much hinges on the fact that we have this Muppet calling the shots, can't coach just a "glorified try-hard English-type Manager wannabe"!!!
Montano sorts out those who knows what's going on and those with no ****ing idea on the big picture.
Anyone who knows about football knows that with a decent coach and a decent team this bloke will be a success in this league.
The rest of them just reinforce their stupidity.
His finishing though
For a striker... Very average
Like I am worried about alienating people.
6 goals one legit one ruled out
Hit the woodwork probably 6 times and all off ****ing scraps cause of his inept teammates and his inept Muppet and this inept club.
The bloke will succeed next season more than he did this one if we persevere even with ineptness around him
Those who can't see his potential value have little idea.
They can have their opinion.
THEY ARE JUST PLAIN WRONG.
What do you guys reckon about us making a play for La Rocca from WSW? I think we should go after a player like him. Looks like he's on his way out. He's a proven player in the league
Was signed originally as a CB but has played mostly CM. Not the worst versatility in the league.
I find him a solid enough A-League player. Ideally I'd love for us to be aiming much, much higher quality for that pivotal CM/CDM role but in the context of our team, I think he'd be a good pickup.
Rumours are strong that he's already signed with Perth though. Also I know his agent loves to shop him to the MLS a bunch.
Perth have 7 guys coming off contract (inc DDS, Rostyn Griffiths, Maclaren). They'll also more than likely lose some players who have lost faith in their ownership/administration (recent rumours say Vukovic and Jamieson to WSW).
Golec seems to be signed. La Rocca seems close, if not signed. I have doubts over Bulut staying in the country. Anderson will go where he gets gametime - which I assume is not Perth unless they move on Thwaite or Djulbic.
Shite's me when people say he is too slow to be a striker, to me that is just so old school......so if a striker isn't running around like a chook with no head, then he is not effective!!! It's the same mentality where people think as long as you kick the ball forward (doesn't matter if it goes straight to the opposition) that is all that matters. I agree with Member here if you think Montano is not good enough than you seriously have NFI about the game!!!
