That's actually a really good idea SD. I hope the Jets read this and take it on board for another match in the future.

can do the ftroop tune, our fortress is a joke. cannon into the tower stuff
Heard this song at church recently and thought if you disregard all the religious-y stuff (and apologies to anyone whose ears hurt from hearing preachy songs), could make for a sweet anthem to sing - if it's simple, slow & loud enough I could picture a large majority of the stadium getting into it. Maybe a chorus and a verse worth of lines would work.
In terms of the actual lyrics, I'm in no state to think up anything decent. But the "Oh my soul" would obviously be "Newcastle" (maybe change start of chorus from "bless the lord oh my soul" to "we love you newcastle"?). Anyone feel free to go crazy making up lyrics if it's worth looking into.

Pass the ball (?), New-cas-tle
New-cas-tle
Just wish we'd win a game
Sing like never before
New-cas-tle
Sing until we win a game
English style chant:
Newy boys we're here! whooo ohh whoo ohh
Newy boys we're here! whooo ohh whoo ohh
Newy boys we're here! to **** your women and drink your beer
whooo ohh! we are the Newy boys!
repeat until the Squadron get bored.
I also want to do the Flight of the Concord to many Dicks on the Dance floor that Mac tweeted at WSW matches
Too many Dicks
too many dicks
too many dicks in the RBB!
Slow the ring of fire chant down to a tempo near enough to the original. Sounds horrendous at disco biccies speed.
As he has returned we need some Griffo chants
Well we have at least two:
Boom Boom Boom - Let me hear you say Griffo. GRIFFO!!!!
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WqHQ_wWbG9Y
Theres only one Joel Griffiths
One Joel Griffiths
With his golden locks and his giant c*ck
Walking in a Griffo wonderland
And to confirm for everyone - Joel Griffiths always will be the "nothing but class" in the Sheila from Gosford song
We can also adapt the Dalglish LFC chant for Griffo
http://fanchants.co.uk/football-song...ants/dalglish/
We trialled a new version of Oh when the Jets on friday which seemed to go well, basically its the Spurs version
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IuMbrQ5oxJ8
thoughts?
And we know Sydney used to sing this version, but they hardly sing it any more. Plus I would rather go with a revamped version to get more people involved, plus its an english style chant most are familiar with.
It's more the Southampton version furns
I can't read and I can't write but it doesn't really maattterrrr, because I support the coasties and can drive a tractor

He's coming home
He's coming home
He's coming - Griffo's coming home
Eng-er-land!!!
This went off when i was there, just sayin. It's a fast one and we all know how much the kids like to sing fast.
RBB probs do it but f 'em. Will post lyrics later.

Found this on the Newcastle Football History page.
It would be interesting to find out the tune of that first KB song. Also, great how they actually used the original words to When the Saints go marching in. Would be good to use the proper words instead of substituting Jets and Squadron into the song.
I remember my Aunty telling me about supporting football in England in the late 50s/Early 60s when they actually would just sing Church hymns like this using the proper words. Got bastardised on the way. Would be great to get back to a tradition of singing the originals sometimes.
The only time I've heard that Don't Dilly Dally song was Miss Piggy singing it on the Muppet Show on Youtube. Classic.
what happened to "the entertainer"
