Regardless of how we go at the WC, good to see plenty of fresh faces around the squad.

maybe they'll deny arzani a visa.
just watched the croatia v aus game in the 2006 cup.
god the ref and kalac were terrible.
kalac = goalkeeper, amazing in training in prepaired training drills etc.. game situation... scary.. remember seeing him play in Milan... first time live. Warm up sitting behind the goals and im like damn not bad actually... soon as game started. Old oppionion came straight back... terrible

kinda
That Hazard, De Bruyne(?), Mehrtens midfield for Belgium is fun as all hell to watch.
Hope they do well.
So it’s Russia Day, and I need to go through a checkpoint to scratch my left nut it seems.
Red square is off limits for some performance tonight.
Just started bucketing down.
Hurry up and bring on this opening game!
Is this the start of your WC diary? Needs a new thread
Oh man, I sure as hell cant live up to the members foz defining thread of 2014.
Tbh, I’m waiting for something to kick off. English fans keeping a low profile. Few aussies getting around.
Massive support for Columbia, Egypt, Argentina Brazil and Peru. South Americans wanna party and dance all the time throughout the main stretch. All fun and games until they remembered that they all don’t like each other.

seems they learned a lot from the a-league final.
oh, and the VARs will be wearing the full referee kit. thank **** for that, nothing can go wrong now.
They'll be going full John Terry.
I read this on the BBC and thought to myself they're going through the same path, making the same mistakes made in the A-League. They clearly aren't learning or interested in the outcomes from the "trial leagues" around the world.
Spain done a Jets
Sacked the coach 2 days out from the WC
and the US and A just won the 2026 Cup.
Great news.
Meet you all at the Plague base in Vegas. We'll fly out to games from there.
Apparently he agreed to 3 more years with National team just a few weeks ago.
Thus the betrayal.
Will be sad not seeing Les Murray sitting with the Kremlin behind him and saying "welcome.......to the Wooorrrld Game here in Russia".
Been watching him over 30 years.
Indeed...just a moment of reflection.
****ing hell Member, that was some cold ass shit.
funny. but cold.
cant wait to see what jolly jokers we have on optus over the next month. can only imagine the mongs they dragged out to talk sockah.
wait, that dipshit Speedy isnt calling anything is he? **** that guy.
Watching Schwarzy, Okon, Vidmar and a strangely chubby Mel who looks a touch preggers.
Ikonomodis and Wilkinson on earlier. Early days but will check SBS shortly.
Look, listen my gee.
I get what you're saying. But dude, if she's just 'chubby' for any reason then that's none of yours. You realise every ex player they gonna show for the next month are gonna be a bit 'chubby' compared to their glory days.
It happens
Dont be that guy.
So good to see the proper Ronaldo out there at the opening ceremony.
Geez what a player he was.
Serious though poor Martin Tyler having to talk us through this Robbie William's garbage.
Not a bad opening game for Russia.
I found it a bit cheesy flashing across to the box with Putin, Infantino and who I can only assume is part of the Qatar royalty.
i assumed it was a member of the saudi royalty.
thought they were both pretty ordinary and the score flattered russia. russia will get through now, but i think they'll get wrecked by Uruguay.
Seriously though, how good is 24 hour on demand coverage? Watched both coverages on rotation last night, both had positives and faults...but it is there to watch at least.
Talking about Optus and SBS?
For the games not shown on SBS (such as Uruguay vs Egpyt), are my options the Optus coverage or "alternative" sources?
I was really dissappointed by the Saudis
Representing the AFC and they dish that shit up
Why are these Gulf nations unable to adjust tempo up a notch when they play outside their region??
I understand when it 45C they need to be conservative and pace the game speed tempo etc
But once they are outside of these weather confines they can crank the tempo up a couple of notches
Got picked off all day long with pedestrian paced build up play.
Lets be honest the Russian pressing wasnt world class either
Just at standard Euro level of pressing
They had a field day picking therm off
The Russian side really were average to say the least despite winning 5-0
Considering they have had 8 years to generate a squad their squad development is pretty poor
Cracking 4th goal though
The only thing more brutal than those Saudi blokes were the scores in the U.S Open golf.
Great nights viewing though.
