quick notes from training i just watched a part of - when everyone is warming down, Goodwin practices shooting. hitting some peach freekicks from the beckham zone. James brown is rocking joggers & I haven't seen him do much, but he's definately around training & in training gear. rubez is a monster. gve looks keen to sign Joel.
also Mitch cooper is rocking a pink isc polo & it's got donkey written on it. good to see they have some fun at training.
I have been given some mail that Troy Palmer and Robbie Middleby are in the UK to sign a named player. Unable to get a name as yet, I will keep you posted.
shanghai > uk
I like Heskey (big fan of him when he was playing for Leicester back in the day, go the Foxes!!) but he just doesn't seem to fit the mould of the players that GVE is trying to bring in.. (Must have good engines, etc)
Unless he wants him up front as a target man? Heskey was never known for his speed or stamina.. More of a big lump up front, to get the ball and lay it off..
We haven't got a proven goal scorer. This is what we need. The last thing we need is another player who likes to give assists. I can just imagine the whole forward line (except Heskey) assisting each other and nobody wanting to put it in the back of the net (except Heskey).
I actually think it would be Heskey. Troy Palmer and Robbie Middleby would fly to the UK to sign him. That couldn't be done long distance.
Has to be David Carney right?
Michael Bridges extends his contract by 6-8 more years.
Scott Macdonald would be a great signing.
From the Australian Football Facebook page:
Newcastle Herald are reporting that Newcastle Jets management are in London negotiating with former England striker Emile Heskey... Would he be a good signing for the A-League?
An article from when we were first looking at Franny. Mentions we were also looking at Vassell.

Also mentions that signing Franny would be a mistake. They weren't wrong there.
Heskey is apparently close to signing. srs

He will get mobbed at newcastle airport.
I would never have expected that the jets could sign a legend like del piero. at least not until we are a more powerful club, which i believe we can be.
love you griff you bastard. hope you enjoy flirting with drogba.
Hauss,
Griff is just playing the PR game.... He can't be seen to be bad mouthing his current club.
To be fair Heskey is probaly the best of wats left. Vassell is terrible, and John Carew is bit more likely to just come here for a holiday. Heskey more likely to be a success in my opinion. Griff comes back in January when someone screws a knee and frees up a spot.
Carew > Heskey imo
This worries me. If rumours are to be believed and GVE wanted Griff but HSG wanted a marquee name then this could have all the hallmarks of when Con bought Mario and GVE refused to use him.
GVE should just do the exact same thing to oust him, wait midway through the year, than suprise them with a beep test. Heskey does 7.something we win the championship. Super simple stuff...if only
The omens are strong my friends
