Could he play right back ?. I would have thought left right out would be more appropriate.

Time to get serious boyz:
If Griff isn't at the game on Saturday I pledge to hold the "Free The Griff" standard up for the whole 90 minutes.
^ At this stage it is unlikely Joel will receive his ITC before Saturday’s match against Western Sydney, but we'll continue to exhaust all avenues to ensure the best outcome.
“All of us at the Newcastle Jets look forward to seeing Joel representing the Club soon.”
Middleby also confirmed the close of the transfer window on February 5, will have no bearing on the situation.
looks like kaze home reunion wont be this weekend
If he does play though, i'm going to have sore arms for 90 minutes
seriously wtf is going on
What are the odds on Griff not taking the field at all this season?
They should have double checked the release BEFORE signing him at all, let alone advertising and selling jerseys! So frustrating.
Is he cleared yet?
Joel HAS BEEN CLEARED

Griffiths cleared to face Wanderers
Hunter Ports Newcastle Jets striker Joel Griffiths has received his international transfer clearance (ITC) and is available to play for the Jets in Saturday’s blockbuster clash against Western Sydney Wanderers at Hunter Stadium.
Jets CEO Robbie Middleby said the Club was extremely pleased to have received Griffiths’ ITC after working around the clock with Griffiths’ management, the Professional Footballers Association (PFA), Football Federation Australia (FFA) and the Chinese Football Association (CFA) to resolve the matter.
“It’s fantastic news for everyone that Joel will be available to play on Saturday,” Middleby said.
“It gives the team a big boost ahead of the match against the Wanderers and gives Clayton Zane another option in the attacking third.
“We’re expecting one of our biggest crowds of the season on Saturday night and it will be a great opportunity for all our Members and supporters to welcome Joel back to Newcastle.”
Griffiths, who earned legend status in Newcastle after winning the Johnny Warren Medal and Golden Boot during the Jets’ Championship winning season in 2007/08 said he was looking forward to once again gracing the Hunter Stadium turf.
“I’m very grateful for all the time and energy that the Jets, the PFA and the FFA have put in to get my clearance over the line,” Griffiths said.
“Now I’m really just looking forward to getting out on the pitch and playing in front of our fans again.
“It will probably be a little bit emotional for me, but once I’m out on the field my only focus will be on giving everything I can for the Newcastle Jets and helping the team get the result we're after.”

If Kale gets named in the squad and I get success in the WC Ticket Ballot which finishes today it will be the greatest day ever
No match officials sack can now be deemed safe
Can't believe I'll see him in the flesh in two days. Is this a dream?
Honestly didn't expect this given the track record of the powers that be. Safe to say I, like all of you, am well pleased :grin:
Sneaky phone check at work, definitely worth it!!! Interested to see what this bloke can do!
