Poor finishing and poor refereeing cost us the Italy game. They teach them how to dive in primary school
Membership pack arrived today. Cards are getting thinner every year and cannot comment on the fixture magnet strength because there isn't one.
Gone all out with the lanyard clip this year though.
Damian Zane has left the Jets, according to the Herald. Zadkovich has joined per the headline.
Highly successful Newcastle Jets youth team coach and boys academy boss Damian Zane has parted ways with the A-League club.
Zane?s contract was up at the end of September and has not been renewed.
In a further development, former Brisbane Roar coach Ruben Zadkovich is expected to join the Jets as part of Mark Milligan?s A-League coaching staff.
Zane has spent the past four years at the Jets and played a major role in the development of home-grown first-team squad members Will Dobson, Max Cooper, Xavier Bertoncello, Christian Bracco, Alex Nunes and Ben Van Dorssen.
Dobson, Cooper, Bertoncello and Bracco were key players in the Jets? history-making Australia Cup conquest.
A man accused of carjacking and brandishing a gun during a citywide pursuit has been arrested after a dramatic incident inside a CBD hotel, triggering a major police operation. This video includes ACM-produced voiceover powered by AI.
The Jets youth team finished fourth in the NSW NPL1, which included a three-point deduction for an administrative error in the previous season.
In 2024, Zane guided the Jets youth and under-18s to unprecedented, undefeated seasons in NSW League 2, to gain promotion to League 1.
When Milligan took the reins of the A-League squad in July, he indicated that Zane would have a greater involvement.
The Newcastle Herald understands that Zane does not intend to take a break and is now looking for a new opportunity.
Chris Zorocich, who guided NNSW side Cooks Hill to the round of 32 in the Australia Cup, is expected to take charge of the Jets youth team. He assisted Zane last season.
The youth team starts preseason training next week. The academy squads began training on Tuesday.
It is unclear who will take over as technical director of the boys academy.
On joining the Jets in 2022 after a standout coaching career in the NNSW NPL, Zane made clear it was his mission to produce more home-grown players for the club.
?You can stand on the outside and throw stones. We have all done it. But there comes a time where you have to jump on board for the kids and help them get to where they want,? Zane said. ?Something hasn?t been working because there hasn?t been enough players coming through. The talent is there.?
Zadkovich is set to return to the Jets, where he played 97 and spent two seasons as captain.
He moved into coaching and guided Broadmeadow Magic to a Northern NSW NPL premiership. He returned to the A-League as an assistant coach at Perth Glory and was promoted to head coach after Richard Garcia was sacked in 2022.
He also spent 18 months in charge at the Brisbane Roar.
The former midfielder has a long association with Milligan.
He joins Nick Stavroulakis and Jesse van Stratten on the coaching staff.
The Jets have been approached for comment.
Was that Zorocich news known? Or is it a new thing as well?
Did a smashing job with Cooks Hill if hes looking to step up I hope that's the right pathway and he doesn't get stuck in the mud like so many other Jets youth coaches.
Also, the return of Zads.
Brilliant.
Milligan is way too composed on the sideline. I need some arms flapping and nonsense brewing.
Looking forward to our man filling the role with aplomb.
Of course part of the succession plan, Rubes is there incase Millsy gets a gig overseas, if successful, or sacked if not.
Rumour Zane is interviewing for the Scum job. Warren Moon has stepped in as caretaker.
I was wondering how the club would fuk this season up, and probably the next few too. Zad is top of my list for coaches to avoid, and Zane seems to be doing a great job. Typical Jets
We've overlooked Zane quite a few times. If he has a shout at an A-League gig I can't begrudge the bloke giving it a go.
Just a thought, not a reply to any particular post. I?m a technical dinosaur.
Best option Zane got offered a first team gig and took the chance. Worst case something rotten has happened behind the scenes
This is the best news since Kaz Patafta joined the Jets.
We will dominate with Zads firing up the boys. A good league performance this season under Milligan ? perhaps 4th ? before Zads takes over and wins the league next season.
Maybe some sponsorship money on offer like last time, Zad is a toxin. IMHO
FA season refereeing announcements.....

Honest my days at games are numbered, I don't want a f***ing "engaging VAR experience".Quote:
In the A-League Men, for the first time, VARdict, an in-stadium system providing real-time updates on big screens during VAR checks, will be introduced which will give supporters a more transparent and engaging VAR experience".
For VARks sake...I wonder when it will be sponsored.
After I posted this, I read that there is no money for another assistant coach, so their wages would need to be covered by someone else, most likely the in laws. Milligan has known him since their teen years and thinks he can make him a better coach. I'm beginning to lose confidence in Milligan very quickly. What a shit show.
He is no Clayton Zane to be fair
