As an aside, was at the Olympic V Southy game yesterday. There were dubious cards given throughout the whole day. 2 send offs in senior grades for Southy. On each occassion, 1 yellow was deserved, 1 was not. Games weren't played with much malice....not sure if the abundance of yellows were needed, but decisions were made.
Southy 23s were hard done by, going down to 10, scoring a nicely worked goal, few more chances only for Olympic to pepper the goals in the last 2-3 minutes and score with about 10 seconds left. I feel Southy deserved the points in this one.
First grade, i think a draw was a fair result. Both teams were very scrappy. Jaimie Byrnes could've scored a great goal in the first half, that could've opened the flood gates I feel. But alas not. Brad Waters is a class above...Greg Anderson also played really well. Swancott didn't have too much too do. Nor did Cox for Southy. 0-0 was a fair summary of a scrappy game. Both teams are capable of much better.
Kudos to the crowd for their entertaining comments. Getting frustrated at Southy keeper for trying to play out from the back...."Just boot it up field"....oh dear. Clapping all the big kicks either team did.
