Broadmeadow in all sorts

Broadmeadow looked the goods for the first 20 minutes and took a deserved lead through James Virgili. After that they coughed up 2 goals before halftime to a very ordinary Bears side. The rest of the match was a scrap as Weston defended stoutly. Magic were bereft of ideas and rarely threatened. I'm going to preface this next comment by saying I'm as big a Bears fan as their is, but my goodness, our fans/supporters/mums are clueless. Are all sides home fans as dumb as ours?
Lambton in all sorts
What happened in Edgy lower grades ? Are jets that good or just a bad day at office ?
Broadmeadow simply not good enough on the day. Weston obviously had a game plan and they pressed well to win the ball for their two goals, other then the Virgili goal and maj header the were no clear cut chances created by Broadmeadow and Weston defended super.
Weston obviously need work with the ball but worked to their strengths and played on the counter and worked perfect for the two goals. Trusted their defence to get the job done and they did get the job done.
Big confidence booster and I absolutely love seeing magic get beat as does everyone in the league
You know the drill, 20’s is the roundabout. It’s the mix, 1st graders coming back from injury and getting their rhythm,1st graders been dropped and playing like spoiled brats, 18’s players given a chance and try to hard forgetting how they were playing to be given the opportunity, 20’s is just such a hard place to play,
That’s why Olympic have been strong as a club last few years, not a lot of movement between 18’s,20’s and first.
Interested to hear, how do clubs do there games played statistics, im doing up to date games played, all grades for Azzurri 2009 onwards ( of course ), but say a kid plays 18s and then bench for 20s, is that two games ( two team sheets ) , same for U20 in First grade, is that two games or do you just put them down as one game at the highest grade. Interested how other clubs do it.....

Anyone see what happened in Magic v CCB game that had Magic player rolling around the ground in apparent convulsions late in the game. Watched on bartv but they missed incident. That same player only moments before had pulled down blues player in the box as he went for a header. Looked a dangerous and very cheap shot. Surprised it wasn't a penalty as he grabbed player and flipped him on his back.
First Sunday free in a long time and the Lubjo factor drew me to the game, Magic should of had a penalty early on when Lubjo pulled Virgili back when one on one with the goalkeeper, Charlestown should have been awarded a penalty for the incident you mentioned and Lubjo should have seen red for a cheap shot in back play. Magic physio was very animated towards Lubjo's cheap shot.
I assumed he must have done something but sideline official seemed more interested in telling the Magic number 20 to get back on his feet. Everyone that mattered looked like they thought it was a dive.
The referees look scared to punish lujbo and give him cards like they would any other player in the league.
The referees seem to be very magic biased this season, they were like this for games vs edgeworth, Charlestown and Weston too.
Coming from a magic follower
Can't comment on the Edgeworth and Weston games but I didn't see the ref do Magic any favours, if anything I thought Charlestown got the better of the calls and yes referee was very lenient on Lubjo, he could have easily been sent for the last man challenge on Virgili early in the game, only thing that saved him I thought was that Virgili stayed on his feet.
Magic physio was repeatedly told to leave the field after again time wasting, ref can be heard twice on bartv ( 85min )asking duty officer to remove him...... nothing done at all and physio remained on sideline .. why ??
Wrong... person asked to leave was a Magic supporter that threw a ball at Matt Tull, after Matt he had smashed a ball into the crowd, supporter had stopped the ball from hitting a pregnant woman.
If the referee had asked an official on the bench to leave, why would he restart the game without the official leaving? Thats like giving a red card and playing on with the player still on the field. Nothing was recorded in the match report on any issues with either team.
Magic physio had an issue with the elbow from Ljubo on the young Magic defender which was clear to see by all including the lines-person, which called the ref back. If a player strikes another player in back play in the head, with the ball not within a cooee... how is that a yellow? Young refs must have been starstruck. Truth is Ljubo should have been sent off in 10th minute for last man contact on virgili, looking at the video prob not a pen as contact was first outside box, just, but still last man outside of box DOGSO, red card... escaping 2 reds in one game... thats Grub worthy.
Denying an obvious goal scoring opportunity (DOGSO) is still a red card, the only time it isn't is if it happens inside the box and the defender attempted to play the ball. DOGSO outside of the box, whether playing the ball or not, is a red.
But as I posted above, there was no DOGSO foul in the Ljubo/Virgili incident.
