Interesting result. Especially since the herald were tipping valo with a poor ending finish.
phoenix were terrible, jets fielded youngest side ever, they were poor also but seemed to have little match fitness, honestly, I dont think Ive seen a game of such poor quality for a long time, especially with no beer, whats doing there, no beer license, you have had all summer to sort that shit
Did Bradbury play? If he did he didn't score therefore Bradbury out lol, just kidding be interested to see how he is used this season and if they stay rigid to 4231.
All kids, no one of any note, Bradbury, hoole, kanta, all in the stand, no ocborrow, Duncan , cooper or musliak, jets were unlucky but although phoenix were poor you to give credit for their comeback
can someone answer this for me i've just bin wondering. so as far as i know nbn league runs 17s 19s 23s and firsts. so your in under 23s but the year you turn 24. and your a quality player but just not good enough to make first grade at your club yet. You have to leave and go back to playing i.d premier league at best. is that right?
as newfm runs the same sort of junior based competitions.
im just a dumbass here so i could be way off.
If I remember right last year they done a similar thing and rested the players who backed up from HAL/NYL committments at various times through the season. Nothing wrong with them injury/form wise they were just made to sit out a few games here and there with some of them missing 2-3 matches on this strategy.
Also TommyJet I will happily bet my right nut and my left nut and anything hanging between the two that whilst GVE is still in charge of Jets that the Jets Yoof teams will be playing the same way of GVE's 4-2-3-1 / 4-5-1 variant of the FFA approved 4-3-3 which sees 70% of the possession between the keeper and back 4 with GVE's patented up tempo high pressing shite coming to the fore
Lakes V Hamilton 1-1
In newfm aren't you allowed to have half your 23's side as overage players or something ridiculous like that?
I think you need to get facts before posting things like this!
1. The ground was crap!
2. Jaffas had 2 players out. 1 of them is out for 16 weeks. The other is out for 2 weeks. the game needs to played the second wed after the game is called off. Neither will play the rescheduled game, so there goes your conspiracy theory! My opinion is we would rather have Maj available for lakes than against Magic we have a better chance of beating lakes than magic!
3. Attachd is a photo of the ground ! This is a forum for discussion, but making up stuff and accusing clubs of majorly wrong doings when you dont have facts should not be tolerated. Your apology is accepted!
4. Edgeworth had to put their game back tp Sunday due to the poor condition of the ground, but I guess thats ok and nobody questioned that? Although you said fields around them were ok!
We had 10 committee members and 3 players all day Friday including me, trying to soap the water up with a massive sponge so we could get the game on.
We also ordered 750 of those sausages that Magic sell and they asked us to order, so trust me, we wanted the game on for more than one reason!
Here is a photo to soothe your poor thoughts on the jaffas integrity

Looks bad.
Didn't this field have drainage installed a few years ago.
Yeah did have, we think something is wrong with drainage or a leakage with the under water sprinkler system.
Half of the ground was playable, and the other half wasterrible.
The council tried to mow it Fri arvo and thats the tyre marks from the mower.
Big mud tracks all up one side of the pitch
Fair enough.
1. Your in the NNSW State LEague - why is your ground crap coming off summer.
2. Id still rather play with these two players, in any case when is rescheduled game, this Wednesday or the following Wednesday? I thought by reading the Herald you felt you were ready to play Magic and were up for the fight and yet here you say you have better chance of beating lakes. Do you not believe in your team?
3. Fair call, i could not see those marks from the front gate. Is the ground always locked? I thought there needs to be access to council grounds? Now the question has to be if you knew there were problems with the drainage why had you guys/NCC not done anything to correct it? I would hesitate to let you in the league if your pitch and facility could not be brought up to standard. You know we are week 1 of a winter competition and if we have a wet season you guys are in massive trouble.
4. Is the ground playable today? Nobody questioned Edgeworth because they attempted to get the game played. Credit to them.
Congratulations to you and your committee for putting so much effort into the facility and the club, but you guys knew you had a problem and you have you are dealing with the consequences of it now.
Love those sausages that Magic sell and that hot chilli flakes they put on it and the cabbage salad. Smart thinking selling those to the Magic supporters. Did you buy them from Magic?
1. It's not crap
We had 4 days of rain. As I said edgeworths ground was unplayable
2. One of these players is out for more than half a season. So we are talkIng about 1 player being out which will still miss the rescheduled game mate which gives us no motive.
3. We didn't know there is drainage problems bud. We still don't we are assuming there may be some leaking sprinklers as one side of ground is ok the other is not.
4. The ground is unavailable today if it was ok And it's still not. But Newcastle football had our ground booked today in any case so it wasn't an option
And NO WE DIDN'T know we had a problem with it.
Thank you mr know it all
Any other technicality u would like to try and get us on?
Jaf JAf, why are you arguing with a faceless bloke on a forum? Sensible people would acknowledge after a period of heavy rain that sometimes a pitch may be unplayable. Here is to you beating Magic next Wednesday night.
Makes one wonder how is Edden Oval going to cope over the whole season. The fact is that it has been pretty much dry weather for the past few weeks, we had a bit of rain over the past week (I think it was mainly Wednesday and Thursday)but there was no rain at all in the 24 hours prior to Saturday (I live in Lambton and there was no rain at all on Friday). If we have another wet Winter, like we have had for the past 4-5 seasons, Jaffas are probably realistically going to have to play their home games elsewhere.
Why are people so concerned about Eden oval, the man explained the problem and I'm sure it will be fixed, please move on
Or Woman? Good luck and i hope you beat Magic too, but as long as the game is entertaining. I have no allegiance to either one of those clubs.
Sensible people would wonder why all the other State League games were played and only Jaf Jafs games were called off. Sensible people would be wondering what the hell is going on at Arthur Edden that will prevent them from playing a game when it rains 3 days prior.
1. Cant play because ground unplayable = ground CRAP. BOM data shows rainfall of 69.8mm on the Thursday 4th and 8.4mm on the Friday 5th of April. Quite a fair bit of rain in such short period. And yes if the problem with the field was something that happened in the last month this would be great but we had over 167mm of rain on the 1st and 2nd of March. Strange this problem did not show up then.
2. Maybe he will be available, maybe he won't, but having JM playing in your side is a game breaker. I will wait and see if the game is played mid week.
3. Didnt know drainage problems even after the down poor we had in March and yes it may have happened since then. Leaking sprinklers are not the problem as the sprinkler lines are not charged with water unless you have the pump running and the sprinklers on. Not saying it was anyones fault but maybe the sprinklers were left on or malfunctioned?
4. You made the point about Edgeworth i mearly stated that thay made a great call.
I do not know it all, and im not about getting anybody on technicalities, sounds childish to me. I do however agree with MKFS that the "SHIT" begins.
Forever Red - this will be a problem mark my words...
Southy 3- CCB 3
Southy were on fire first half. 3-1 at HT, looked like it could get embarrassing for CCB. Southy underperformed 2nd half and struggled to clear the ball out of their own half. CCB would be happy with the draw, Southy will count it as the one that got away.
Bomb from Alex Pichalof as well to equalise.
Wow!! You're really looking for some suspicious activity aren't you!!
If the gorund was playable on Saturday, plus available on Sunday and playable...the Jaffas would have played!
Facts are, ground wasn't playable Saturday and still wasn't playable Sunday for Newcastle Football!
Also to correct your rubbish knowledge of a Club you know nothing about!! The ground has been the same for the last 5 years since re-turfed. Adequate drainage was not installed by NCC at this time and the ground has always had problems with wet weather on the far side.
That being said, the Jaffas in last few years have consistently provided one of the better surfaces in the top 2 divisions and have always played their matches in accordance with the rules established by NNSW.
This has and will not change and any ridiculous conspiracy theories are just baseless tripe from someone who has no clue!
Time to cut the shit lads.
