I wouldn't buy any established players from Sydney FC or Melbourne Victory because they simply would not let us have a player of theirs unless the player had some issue / problem.

yeah but if we are ever going to get any good and have a proper decent attacking mid we're better off signing someone 'proven' in the league rather than take yet another punt on yet another 'unknown' and pretty much guarantee yet another failure.
Leo, Brown, Cullina (rofl rofl rofl!!!!), all im saying is if we are gonna waste our money lets sit on 16 and hope the dealer busts rather than praying for that 5.
I'd be happy if they folded the club to be honest. The Jets haven't been on my list of things I give a **** about for a very long time.
Club needs a new name, new owner, a minimum of six quality players outside the salary cap, and a new venue. Until that happens it's going to be more of the same no finals football, as long as fans continue to accept the mediocrity.
Victree mate of mine reckons we are in for Khalfallah aswell.
Great work boys
**** me

The new Jets logo.
I rate vujica for the future. Georgevski is a much more capable player then Hoffman. Cowburn is the worst of them all.
It would all depend on what they pay for him. Whilst I agree DG would be the highest paid of the lot I disagree we would have to open the cheque book for him. He's always been a fringe starter down there. Be a certain starter here.
Wing backs are very underrated in this league.
Much like Kalfalah and I agree he should be a priority. People say he's past his prime but he's been displaced by arguably the best player in the league in Rojas. In my opinion he's still got 2 or so years of good football left. Drama is his daughter loves Melbourne and he's made it known he wants to stay.
I think your mis understanding his point Plague
Fullback position seems to be an after thought from the Managers who are happy to try and play some **** out of position to try and plug the hole
They aint interested in having specialists players
Look at us
Dapuzzo
Pepper
Beard
Thompson
Hoffman
Cowburn
Etc
We always playing some **** out of position
Geogevski on the other hand is a full back
Our goals against column has grown ridiculously thanks to incompetent FBs, especially the 2nd half of the season. Yet we don't think it's a necessary position to upgrade?
TBH...we were fine with Hoff at RB and Vujica/Cowby at left.
Why change it weekly?
That is true.
We have barely had a settled back line all season through injury and selection changes
I am also a big believer in the importance fullbacks have to success
A successful side has fullbacks performing well.
The amount of attacks killed by fullbacks not being able to play is biblical in the HAL
I'm not saying it will transform the way we play. I'm saying we need to make 7/8 quality signings and georgevski would be. Start. Making an improvement right throughout the squad. Each year we make one or two "ok" signings whilst every other squad in the league strengthens much further. Then we all sit back and think we will cruise into the finals. This team needs a decent striker, 10, winger, midfielders, fullback and centre back. Also who says we are paying huge amounts for him?
Logic.
We are fighting for the spoon and they are fighting for a home finals spot??? We will have to offer Kanta money to sign with us. I wouldn't be unhappy if we signed him as we definitely need a LB starter and he is a very good LB, i just worry about the ratio of quality to cost, his quality is fine but i worry that the wages will make us weaker in other areas.
Remember we don't have marquee wages to offer people or any money outside of the salary cap. If that starts to happen than this is a different conversation.
"Jets close to signing O'Donovan, Georgevski and Khalfallah"
If im another player in the comp, I may well be thinking to myself, hmmm maybe these guys are starting to try and take things seriously.
Weaker in other areas??
You did watch us tonight??
We ain't exactly strong.
Sure we probably going to have to pay overs to get blokes in
But we were in this position for the last few years anyway of paying overs.
Until we at the top and an in demand club we ain't getting the best players coming without over paying for it
Just saw a comment on a story about O'Donavon that the Gypos are in talks with BK.
I'm not sure what's worse... Scum wanting our rejects or us poaching scum starters... pretty sure this is a sign of the apocalypse.
I'm waiting for the merger myself
And we have Gypo CEO and Griff and Hutcho to facilitate it
Don't have the coin? Don't have the coin? Really? Isn't Mr LED a billionaire? There are marquee positions available outside the salary cap plus other concessions that the club has NEVER used. There is no excuse for the club not to massively overhaul the roster.
I concur. Vujica is on par with Georgevski in my assessment - why would they pay more for positions that will rarely turn the outcome of a game unless they completely screw up. Like Mullen. Or Boogaard. Or Kanta. Or BK. Has a left back ever cost us or won us a game?
what an unprofessional organisation we have. We now have Mckinna using herald articles to urge fans to keep the faith by saying we are recruiting and owner wants a marquee.!!
seriously does he not know better than that we have all seen articles like this so many times before. Also you gotta love "ask the 2 newcastle old boys their thoughts on Jones the coach". of course they will back their mate.
if they were professional they would keep quiet and be working hard behind the scenes to bring results. announcements is what people resonate with not fluff in the papers.
Sorry McKinna, not a very astute businessman
