I mentioned this in the famous dead peoples thread but thougth it worth noting here.
It's 40 years today since Ian Curtis of Joy Division chose to leave this mortal coil.
Glass - A classic example of the raw, driving energy this band created, polished off with Martin Hannett's visionary production.
His mixing and subliminals are the icing on the cake.

I love this song on their compilation album Still. It's best served as the entree to The Only Mistake...
IC RIP
Today Time After Time by Cyndi Lauper
This is one of Cyndi Lauper’s biggest hits. When I hear it, you think of all those missed moments you could have said what you wanted, but didn’t. You wonder: What if?
Does anyone like jowics new song? Dronish for me, seriously needs a bridge of some sort.

Can't wait to see the results in 20 years time from women who listened to this while pregnant.
Stanny... I've gotta say.. That was pretty damn good..
Some nice meat-and-potatoes chunky metalcore.. Reminds me a lot of some older Hatebreed (but with a bit more production value)..
The whole time I was listening, I was waiting for the melodic sing-a-long whiney chorus, and it didn't come!!!
Meanwhile whilst working from home I've been re-visiting some classic Swedish melodic death metal..
In Flames before they "did an Opeth" and went soft - not that there is necessarily anything wrong with it, I just prefer their harder stuff..
Production obviously isn't the greatest (it was 1999 after all), but there is just something about the riffs and tone of the guitars that are really evocative to me..
