the aim is to be , like West Ham, Southahampton, Ajax etc etc sign cheap, create talent- and then sell, that enables the door and oportuntiy for more talent to come in, rather than sign or hang on to has beens, looking for superannuation payments. These clubs generally dont dominate leagues, but produce the best talent, and are finnacial from sales.
I believe CCM, had a clause in Matty Ryans contract, they recieved a % for FC Brugge transfer, now his value has increased to 3.6 Miil apparenltly, so if they sell him eg to Liverpool, CCM gets 20% of the next transfer fee, which could net then approx $700k to $1mil, after recieving a fee 2 years ago from his 1st sale.
