How is it that the USA is outperforming Australia? Much larger base of competing sports culturally yet as we can see in their world cup squad, much more represented by players playing in European leagues. How is it that they have overtaken us? We could easily assume money and player numbers yet countries with smaller participation numbers and lower socio-economic status also outperform Australia.
