Anyone here tried using slip in shins pads with those little calf sleeves you can get with them?

Anyone here tried using slip in shins pads with those little calf sleeves you can get with them?
Just wondering if you found them useful & where you purchased them from?
I got some of them, I always have trouble with shinpads as the elastic in the straps just wears out super quick on mine and they just flop around.
When I first got them I was wearing them with old socks (in pre season) and they were useless, all over the place.
However once we got the new socks in that were tighter I found them quite nice, stayed in place majority of the time and lasted me all season without really worsening at all.
