also, youngsters of today, always chewing gum. he looks like a cow. :)
Simon Katich currently 124* playing county cricket.
Steve smith FFS.
root. siddle just did it to him. nice ball. shit shot. the ball was about 3 stumps over chump.
wade would have caught that*
*if he were ian healy
and normally I would agree with this statement but our stocks are so thin if we're going to use Rogers we may as well use the best opener we've had in the last 5 years.
But yeah Captain hates him so you're right.
But considering Warner's latest turn of events tonight there's another spot opening up.
pretty close to all square at lunch. england in front by a hair. maybe two.
aaaaww shiiiiiiiiiiiiit.
ball moving around a bit. we're screwed.
another good ball from sids.
trott on big fella.
seriously, what the hell is the umpire doing asking for a review on that decision? umpires have turned into complete numpties. may as well get rid of them if they're going to ask for help on calls like that.
^^This.
Umpires don't seem to be calling no balls as much these days - it's as if they don't bother watching the front foot any more.
Still not a fan of video technology - the players are prone to error, so are the officials, it's what makes sport what it is.
I know Siddle got all the wickets but how good is Pattinson. bloke has got full mongrel, consistently sledging the batters, threatening to throw the ball at there throats from deliveries blocked out to him, etc.
besides siddle's cracking Yorker and andersons purler of a delivery to Clarke most of the wickets have been more batsman error to the bowlers bowling.
could have f**king murdered cowan after his stupidity, trying to get bat on a ball that far outside off stump FFS.
good call on steven smith by the looks of things, was pretty reassured and a decent six of swann.
Yeah but the errors are coming from sustained pressure. Which reinforces your point about the job Pattinson is doing.
Cowan FFS. Disgrace. Meanwhile Simon Katich scoring runs for fun at the moment.
Also,in these conditions Anderson is a truly great bowler. Another quality display last night.
you'll never guess what's happened. watson has picked up a "niggle".
Maybe they won't send Warner to play for Australia A...
Whats the worst he could do? certainly cant do worse than cowan!
The Aussie cricketer worth watching is in exile for getting on the turps and showing some agro towards a pommy player off the field.
Alternatively if yer completely lacking in man skills they make you captain.
Because a hack with zero technique is the guy we want representing us at test level. The massive focus on slogging it out of the park is the exact reason why we are so shit at test cricket right now. Warner should **** off and never come back to the 5 day game.
katich exile was the biggest disgrace ever
Clarke hated him because Katich wanted the whole team to savour a victory but Clarke was more interested in getting in his aston martin and hanging with lara dingle
He's about 12 months older than Chris 'el saviour' Rogers.
He is playing county cricket in England as we speak. Yesterday he had just posted another century against the same bowling attacks that Rogers was praised for getting runs on.
No I'm not taking the piss.
Bloke can bat, and has been shafted for nothing more than a personality clash. Even the great Aussie teams had blokes that couldn't stand each other (warne/s.waugh, gilchrist/warne) but blokes were picked on merit.
We used to win a bit back then.
It's always astounded me when coaches/authority figures get too cute for their own good and don't do the bleeding obvious and pick the best team.
Maybe I'm missing something.
Katich is a wasted talent because of this crap.
Bringing Haddin back was a good move though. When I saw this I thought perhaps they might realise they also ****ed up punting Katich but obviously not...
Oh yeah, Katich is about the same age as Haddin.
Thanks for reminding me SH10.
Trott: 32.
Pietersen: 33.
Swann: 34.
Still going ok.
The Sheffield Shield is there for development, not an Ashes series.
Just pick the best ****ern team it's not that hard innit?
Katich ain't gonna get arthritis and keel over in the next 12 weeks is he?
Also, you can't make the cricket/soccer comparison. Players in each sport hit their peaks at way different times.
Socceroos pick the best team for the World Cup, we should be doing the same for the Ashes.
I agree he was poorly treated and should never have been put out of the team. If he was never dropped he would be there still. But to say he should be back in there now, in my opinion, is crazy. (along with the selection of rogers and especially cowan)
The whole argument of "he plays and scores runs in county cricket" has been proven time and time again to mean sweet F A!
Look at how many runs all of our batsmen were scoring in lead up games
If the weather stays warm /steamy the poms to clean up the pretenders in the morning session
sorry. my fault. was watching the tour de france replay, flick over and say "oh, they haven't lost a wicket". as i finish saying it, anderson gets smith. then haddin goes. then siddle.
mea culpa.
EDIT: then starc. but i'm not taking the blame for that one. we're screwed.
god, just saw the batting card.
:blush::blush::blush:
agar>cowan
agar: "who's this pie chucker that everyone's afraid of? was his name duck? goose?"
(by the way, agar's nickname in the team better be "gel" or "seaweed")
the bloke was stumped about 40 runs ago lol
makes up for rogers not being out then i guess. for what it's worth, i think on the balance of probabilities he was out, but benefit of the doubt and all that, so he wasn't out.
wonder how long (if ever) it's been since a number 11 scored a 50 on debut and top scored.
this dude's carving them up. what an effort.
yep, highest score by an 11 ever (previous 91 by some West Indian lad).
bugger he holed out though.
Clearly belchado's fault.
Hi Guys.
Just reminding you that I'm the last Australian to make a century on debut.
Thanks.
