I wouldn't expect anything less from a former champions league winning left back
As the Aus LFC Supporters Clubs will be a part of the ticket presale for the LFC vs Victory game in July, anyone who would like to register their interest in this via the LFC NSW email list, please send an email to club@lfcnsw.com so I can add you in.
Did get ticket. Excited like a fat kid blowing out birthday candles
I got some too :) very excited
biting is outrageously bad. technically can't ivanovic get infected with any potential diseases suarez could have (hiv/aids, etc) if he broke the skin?
i love how suarez tries to appeal for something after he hits the deck.
last time suarez bit someone on-field he got 7 weeks suspension. surely something as outrageous as this, coupled with the fact it is a repeat offence, should see him suspended for much much much longer? i know it's a big call, but i wouldn't be happy with him getting anything less than a season suspension tbh.
it's like suarez is legit looking for ways to convince liverpool to sack him some days.
Not a good look. You can't defend that.
As a Liverpool fan I feel embarrassed to have him on my team sometimes. His good is very very good, but the same can be said for his bad.
lol
will prob get rest of the season + a handful of games to start the next season. its about right imo
pretty disgusting behaviour but he's been pretty well behaved since moving to england so i dont think its fair to give too much weight to previous offences from 3 years ago in a different league
can i lol back?
just did a quick google on "luis suarez controversial moments". since arriving in england:
- got rodwell sent off for a dive where he wasn't touched.
- found guilty of racism
- offensive gesture towards fulham fans
- refuse to shake evra's hand
- dove in front of moyes for a celebration as an in-your-face for moyes saying he was a diver
- handball against mansfield
- punched a dude on-field while playing for uruguay (admittedly not playing for liverpool)
- decided to taste flesh, again
tbh it looks "pretty well behaved" when compared to the record of joey barton, robbie savage & mario balotelli. apart from that, no person should be able to keep a straight face when saying he's been well behaved since signing for liverpool.
liverpool can't stand by him for this, they have to sack him
They won't sack him but as he is worth a heap of coin so my opinion is that they will cut their loses and offload him for a price to any side stupid enough to take him. The man can play the game but he is a liability to any club he plays for.
Reckon he will be off to Spain this summer.
I read a few weeks ago that talks were well in progress about a $40mill fee to a spanish club
"best player in the league" cheers stevey
Yes, he's the only player to have ever taken a dive?
Not for a second am I condoning that but a bit of perspective please. Let's not mention the serious fouls on Suarez that have gone unpunished, e.g. Huth's stamp on his chest.
Garbage hearing with a pre-determined outcome, bloke was innocent and crucified because he's a foreigner and has a bad rep. If it had gone to court ala Terry it would have been laughed out of there for no evidence.
Fair call
I wouldn't have either after the crap that Evra pulled. Hardly warrants a suspension or contributes to a 'bad record' for one geez
And? Loved that personally, as did Moyes. Shades of Fowler. Brilliant.
Whoopdedoo, a hand ball. Stretching things a bit aren't you
Not relevant.
So back to start again
I can't even find the words to describe how mind-numbingly stupid he is for doing it. I would hope Pool give him one last chance because if he doesn't it such a waste of amazing football talent. I just love watching him play, he's a skillful little bastard with the right mentality of never giving up. Then again, I thought he was past the biting level of dickheadery so maybe he's just one of those guys who will never reform
sh10 in fairness I wasn't the one stretching for those examples - as I said they were from a google search. the fact that he has that kind of list, and needs defending for each one, shows that he's not exactly keeping a low profile.
he is a liability for Liverpool. he has repeated an offense that saw him suspended for 7 weeks in the past. he is a proven cxxx on the field who needs to go
I blame the Liverpool lunch ladies.
Clearly not feeding him enough.

i love coasties manure
the uruguayan j griff
good for the game
he just wanted a taste of a champions league team
Pffffft, the usual phony outrage.
I love the 'The club HAS to sell him' line.
Why?
Terry, Ferdinand, Cantona, Defoe all pulled some pretty weak ass shit in their time and their clubs all stood by them.
Why should Suarez be any different?
Jeez, speaking of embarrassing the good name of Liverpool FC, have you seen Jamie Carragher defend?
Get over yo'selves.
Alas, forgot to update my post with Ashley Cole shooting a kid with an air rifle at training.
But please don't let me interrupt the public lynching of 'old bitey'.
Anyone got a stream to watch for when the residents of Mt Pius set him alight?
there's a difference between standing by a player when he does something stupid or controversial and standing by a player that does it on a regular basis and seemingly doesn't really gaf about his or the club's image and reputation.
He just wanted to take a chunk out Chelsea's champions league hopes.
On Liverpool's twitter (or one of the many accounts from Liverpool) that Suarez has been given a 10 week ban.
ok so Defoe gets nothing for his chomp in 2006 and Suarez gets 10?
About as even handed as Terry getting four games for racism and Suarez getting 8.
wd to the FA for consistency.
To be fair though there was never a 'fair' punishment in this case.
They obvs looked at the first offence which he got 7 for then upped it for 2nd strike.
I just can't stand the likes of Souness etc coming out crapping on about 'that's not the Liverpool way' etc etc.
Anyone ever watched any football from his era? Biggest set of grubs ever. Glass houses and all that.
FA (and everyone else) needs to look at it for what it was. A dude bit someone. He got suspended.
Move on.
To be perfectly honest Football authorities are pretty blaze about punishing violent offences point blank.
To me 10 weeks is pretty lenient considering the circumstances and the also sideline event is that some of this suspension will be served in the off season makes it a bit of a farce
The biting didn't even follow any type of fight/scuffle event before hand. All that happened was Ivanovic and Suarez tussled for the ball as happens between centr half and striker 1000 times a season. Suarez for some reason then launched into Ivanovic and bit him on the arm. Most natural actions in this case would be a punch headbutt etc but the bite is well out of left field. Considering it is also the second incident of biting from Suarez I am surprised a more sterner sanction wasn't called for.
The last bloke who got a pretty severe sanction for OTT reaction/violence was Cantona for the infamous kungfu kick on a spectator. He got 9 months. I am surprised Suarez didn't get something heftier and rivalling the Cantona ban
some of the wowser flogs in here ffs
i can see you all spitting out your morning earl greys in shock
hilarious histrionics
if he dove in broke ivanovics leg, he would have been given a smaller ban than the 10 he got
apparently, the taboo of biting is greater than actual physical harm
worth more than cantona, lol
He does have a mean set of teeth.
If he had Rooney's baby teeth he'd have only got the 3 games.
