I'm still numb. ****ing hate pens. Was hiding behind my couch for most of em. Fair play to you guys though.
Game V spurs haunting us now.
Had a feeling City would drop some points, and we needed to be perfect for us to win.
City dropped their points, but we were not perfect.
Would’ve set up a cracking final day.
Still hope, still a chance something could happen (provided we beat Southampton).
City to go down 1-0 to a Coutinho trademark cut in, top corner within 10.
Liverpool go up 1-0 early. Kop start belting out Gerrard song, with we’re gonna win the league.
City win 6-1.
It seems the only fitting conclusion. Raise the hopes, only to blow them away.

1:25" Klopp starts talking about the penalty shootout and about the company that approached LFC.

City are absolute machines in the sense of how they can flick a switch and go to attack mode. 15 minutes. 0-2 down to 3-2 up.
Credit to them, exceptional season.
Boy we looked average today when we needed a boost, and the goals came when the pressure lifted.
As commentary touched on, interesting what happens if we go 2-1 up as city is 2-0 down. The boost for Villa, and the effect it may have had on City.
very tense final day morning. Unfortunately the miracle didn’t come off. But we have also had a great season. 6 wins clear of the closest challenger. 1 point behind the winner.
Still feels like a bit of a failure of an EPL season.
3 finals played
Couldn't score a goal in 330 minutes of football
That's impressive
MFKS, as another stupid boomer conspiracy nutjob used to say, two out of three ain't bad
First of all, I'm not taking a shot because Liverpool are 10 seasons of unlimited money away from Arsenal right now.
But I said this to Bon this morning. 3 UCL finals and zero non-penalty goals. Plus, 3 cup finals this season and zero goals outside of the shootouts.
Is this a Klopp issue or something to be concerned about? On paper Liverpool had the squad, but as a neutral I always thought Real would win that final, even with Courtois having a cracker, they simply seem more like a cup final team.
Origi's wasn't a pen. Mane's either.
Before the bullshit sets in.

I think we are a step below where we need to be to win EPL and UCL.
We are a bit of a bully team. We generally have one tactic, and when teams shut that down, the longer they hold us out the more we commit forward and become susceptible.
I thought Madrid would win that match. They are a well balanced team with lots of facets to their play. They play their experience and then bring on bursts of speed later in the game who are great in their own rights.
I think our players do brilliantly throughout the season. But I kind of think what Klopp says about approaching each game as a cup final is true. Then we play actual cup finals and can’t seem to go to the next level.
Klopps time in charge, unfortunately, has coincided with Guardiolas time at city and unlimited funds. Don’t get me wrong, we spend some money, but we can’t afford 100M transfers every season. If Guardiola isn’t managing city, I think we have at least another EPL title.
Moving forward, we need to perfect a plan B. Our plan A is pretty good, and gets us 75% of our games comfortably.
It’s that other 25% that we rely on luck, or scrappy scrappy points. That needs to improve.
Enjoying the ride we are on. I fear the next 2 years will be vital when we are faced with turning over our front 3, Salah, mane and Firmino. Diaz and Jota look good, and hopefully they can step up to the plate.
5 years ago, if you said we’d win a EPL, UCL, make the UCL final 2 other times and challenge for the EPL on the final day on two occasions I’d have jumped at that, and apart from Many City or Madrid fans I think most clubs would prefer that.
So, Mane seems all but gone. 30M offer rejected. But seems like he will leave sooner rather than later.
I’m somewhat excited by the Nunez rumour. Bloke destroyed us in that QF, a few metres cost him a hat trick, but his finishing in some pretty crazy positions impressed me. Not sure he’s worth the asking price, can see Man Utd paying overs for him.
Think we really miss a genuine striker. A good finisher.
There’s a video getting around of TAA delivering perfect balls and them not being finished. Goes for almost 3 minutes. Goes to show how a clinical striker could have a field day in this squad.
(Though, there’s also a lot of goals we have no right to score, they somehow go in, so I didn’t think too much of it, but interesting watch tbh).
I don't think it will happen, but the Harry Kane rumours don't frighten me.
You guys can have Lukaku free of charge if you want
Late news but, Nunez confirmed.
If he’s anything like the last Uruguayan we had, in terms of football ability, we are in for a treat.
Granted I only remember him in that second leg, and he put fear into me every time he had the ball. Looking forward to see how he goes.
Hello Kopites.
Time to Meme out season 2021/22.
This is the last 'When I'm Liverpool' from MSZ/MS2.
It's a long one and a lot of effort has gone into this.
Nice odes and nods to Big Div throughout.
Only 2 x Kolo Toure's to find.
Enjoy!

Poor start.
Fulham did their homework, came at us from the beginning and really put us under pressure.
Thought TAA, VVD, Robertson, Thiago and Firmino all had their worst game for a long time on the same night.
Persistence with the long diagonal ball was not working. I’d love to see the success rate from that particular tactic. Was short and cut off more often than not.
Probably lucky to escape with a draw.
Nunez. I know he got his goal, but similar to Odergaard yesterday, you get the Ball on the edge of 6yd, with time to shoot, you pull the trigger, you don’t try sneaky pass to the back stick guy. Apart from that, I really enjoyed the “different” option he gives up front. He comes across almost as a bit of a target man. But I know he was kind of anything but last season. Interested to see how that develops.
Salah coming on at half time was a nice spark………yes, I know.
Thought Diaz was very unlucky. Bloke is so sharp and can create space for a shot very quickly. He’s gonna score a bundle this season.
VVD. Didn’t think he did as badly as everyone is making out. Not his usual standard but still pretty solid. He took a little nibble and Mitrovic reeled him and the ref in. I thought there was maybe one replay that looked like VVD may have caught his foot when it landed after the nibble. Apart from that, didn’t think the other angles showed any contact. I’m yet to do some googling for the inevitable replays but I don’t think VAR had conclusive evidence to award a penalty if it wasn’t given. But don’t think there was conclusive evidence it wasn’t a pen, so I can understand.
It’s been a while since we’ve had an Uruguayan with anger issues and a brain snap. Silly silly.
May need to start dropping some players or sacking the Manager
Fancy getting beaten by the rabble of shite who get pumped by Brentford 4-0 and fancy being behind them on the EPL table as we speak
That first goal. Can someone explain why that defender for Liverpool has the ball played in behind him and then proceeds to turn around and walk whilst the ball is being moved about in the box before Sancho pulls the trigger.
Who does this guy think he is Harry Maguire or something???
Watching it I was more less interested in the goal / attack than the clown in fluro orange boots thinking it is ok to walk back without a care in the world at defending
Looks like a relegation scrap may be in the offering for both Merseyside clubs
That won't happen - Liverpool will be forever second (they will sort themselves out but like last season maybe too late). Man Utd will still implode once Ronaldo gets the poops.
Already this season is getting tiresome - day in day out, same old same old. Cream will rise to the top - fish poo will float to the bottom.
Thank god for Youtube....
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P526fVoi6-A
Yeah it is a good thing YouTube exists as it will be able to offer up a sample of when the Scousers last won a game because people's memories don't go that far back
2nd ??
You got to win games to get there.
Fulham away Palace home ManUtd away
No wins and you couldn't have asked for a softer start
To think City dropped points at the weekend and you didn't close the gap but instead extended their gap on you
Boring.
Membah - I am no Pool fan - I support one of the real clubs not in the Sky 6 who usually get 15 secs mention on the Weekend Review shows. I am speaking as a neutral who has watched for 45 years.
It is getting monotonous and WWE like. The VAR for instance is only there to provide TV talking points.
Thanks Nick...

Whose next on the list for Liverpool? This will be Klopp's last season if he even lasts that long
Chelsea lost by 1 goal in the UCL and sacked their manager
Liverpool were down 3-0 at HT and it should have been 4 if the 2nd penalty wasn't missed. It could have been 5 if VVD hadn't cleared off the line. It could have been 6 if Omisahen hadn't hit the post after rounding Allison
Watching the 3 minute highlights of this game it was surprising they had time for the 2nd half because all I seem was the Liverpool getting carved apart again and again and again
sack Klopp, shoot the players, sell the club to a corrupt nation state looking to improve its image
You guys can take Gerrard off us if you like.
Yeah. On this one I'll quote the inimitable Vincenzo Grella:
"F**k, no one died"
Proactive would have been getting a new Manager after last season finished and allowing said new Manager to settle into their role with a pre-season.
Reactive is sacking a Manager 1/6 of the way into a season because the Board didn't like a few headlines in the Daily Mail.
Proactive and Reactive are 2 completely different words, however if you want to lie to yourself to make you feel a little better as this time go ahead.
