What I got out of it is that NNSWF have not communicated the intention of using the small sided games for grading...
Agreed, neither team in lopsided games are learning much at all.
I personally think you are missing the point. For the majority of kids it is about enjoyment.
Enjoyment encourages development.
If you set up kids to play in non competitive games week in week...
Very interesting facebook post to NNSWF on the JDL grading process and draw:

If it was obvious that all the strong players were in one team then I might agree, there are players in both squads that are stronger than the other. One team has an absolute stand out player which...
Not sure where you get the A/B U12's Jaffa's info from. One of the squads may be stronger than the other but it definitely hasn't been communicated as such.
The following is based on knowledge of my sons club and information passed on to me by friends who have their kids at other clubs. It is more focused towards 11's & 12's though so there may be some...
To myself, the scheduling just looks really lazily done. Only releasing 2 weeks, grouping clubs across age groups, keeping A & B squads together & not rewarding or punishing individual teams...
All 3 clubs that finished higher than us ended in lower grades. I think one ended up in H? Charlestown vs us was 2 good games that they managed to slog out and pip us both times. Them or Maitland...

Try this on Facebook. The page owner has done a great job summarising each age group within the thread.
Apologies but I was sent it by another parent. I have the phase 2 first 8 week on PDF but can’t figure out how to upload on here by phone. I’ll keep trying to figure it out.
Very conflicted with our O35 draw.
On one hand we have somehow moved from E to C grade after coming 4th last year.
On the flip side the geographic spread of clubs is outstanding. Not many long...
First 2 (yes 2!) rounds have been released.
It’s blindingly obvious that the 5-6 a side competitions have meant absolutely nothing.
They have split clubs down a fairly obvious NPL/NL1 line into...
4 years straight of draws being released days before the games actually start.
For what is supposedly a premier competition it is treated with a distinct lack of attention from NNSWF.
Great to see in the last week NNSWF fill the technical director & advisor roles.
In theory a 5km diameter would ensure nearly all of Newcastle and Lake Macquarie are covered. Kids from Swansea, Port Stephens, Greater Maitland & Cessnock areas etc would need dispensation of some...
Wouldn't this years 12's still have been part of the association SAP in 2020? Or did North Coast not compete?
I’m only going off memory when it was discussed early last year. Apparently almost 1/2 Olympics 2021 under 12’s were selected with several of them in the age belows TSP.
I know they wouldn’t...
How many kids do the Jets select? 15 or 16?
If they follow similar selections as the TSP last year (too much effort to run this year apparently) then in 2022 this years U12 Olympic are going to...
So Singleton, NIAS & Toronto couldn't field teams in all grades? And I'm assuming NNSWF intention is just to dish out punishment on those who can't field teams.
Not sure what that incentivizes? If...

Your example is an undefeated grand final winning NL1 team up against a team that was one of the worst in the NPL competition last year. Not surprising. Also not a good indicator of overall...
Appreciate the insight and honest responses everyone.
What's happened to New Lambton? Won the comp in 2019 but have completely nose dived?
:roflz:
