    Ten Years of the A-League

So, Foxsports have come out today with their best XI from the first 10 years of the HAL. It is certainly a contentious topic and it will be hard to get agreement.

Who do you think is the best A-League XI? Who would be your best Jets IX? Even your work Jets IX?

    ------------Galekovic-------------
    Franjic--Milicevic--Spira--Traore
    ---------McKay--Milligan---------
    Griff---------Ono----------Broich
    ------------Berisha---------------

My honourable mentions list is massive - the three I'm most disappointed about not fitting in are Musialik, Archie and Paartalu.

    Jets, for me

    --------------Covic----------------

    Elrich----Dura------Ljubo-----Thompson

    ------Musialik------Wehrman--------

    Song---------Carle----------Ryu

    ------------Griff---------------

    Bench
A Griff, Okon, Taggz, Zads and Birraz

Wanted to put the beard in but couldn't, even though I think we will look back on him as being the best player to ever play for this club.

I would much prefer to play with 11 players than 9... they must be assuming Muscat and Burns would make it and get sent off!

Haha sorry for being that guy, but if it wasnt me, someone else would have bought it up!

Did you think that Og was really that good in the HAL though? I loved the partnership that Moore had with him, and loved Moore to death, but I didn't see THAT much in Og that I've seen in other CBs at HAL level tbh. After he moved to Asia and featured for the Socceroos - different story. But I didn't rate him that highly from his time actually in the HAL.

I would personally put Ljubo and Spira (obv) plus Thwaite, BVDB, Zwaans, Sains, Moore, Muscat, North ahead of Og.
    OK

    My Jets

    --------------Covic----------------

    Eags----Okon------Ljubo-----Thompson

    ------Holland------Wehrman--------

    Song---------Carle----------Milton

    ------------Griff---------------

    Bench
A Griff, Dura, Bridge, Sasho and Young

A bit of a controversial bench but you cant deny Adam, Bridge and Sasho were so great for us!

Theres a few great players there that didnt do heaps for us in the short time they were here e.g Milligan, Brown so i based it purely on performances for us.

Og was brilliant towards the end of his Adelaide stint, just before he left.
But there are plenty of great CB's in your list there!

I suppose its how people interpret it. Do you select a team on the way the player performed in the a-league or do you go off what they have done since or before?

Also surprised no one has mentioned Kruse yet. His final year when at melbourne he was near unstoppable! He would definitely be in my team for whole league. I think he dominated more than any other aleague player has, in his time.

North, Thwaite and Moore are a very good call. I wouldn't put Muscat in because I can't stand him (ha ha!). I want to put Spira in, but for me it's only been a year for him in the league. Give it another 12 months at the level he was last year and I reckon that would change. Maybe Og's overseas exploits are clouding my judgement - and it was a long time ago but I'm going to stick.

    Theo >> Eugene

Miracle of Brisbane and 5 Winners medals say he is better.

Eugene's greatest claim to fame is his mum works at Crazy Horse
