Life isn't the same without Con... but it can only improve without Tinks...
Fun little excerpt from an article about H*tchos coaching future:

question for us though:
would you rather they stayed and sucked this much or have their licence taken from them and given to someone more deserving?
Out them, their time is up.
They are dragging the league down and not even trying to get better - absolute minimum salary spend, signing bargain basement NPL players or has-beens, couldn't even manage a 4k crowd despite $5 tickets last weekend. Squatters in every sense of the word.
Canberra, Wollongong, South Melbourne, Hobart, Auckland or even 2nd Brisbane team would add more to the league. If the Coast wants a team that bad wait for the 2nd division and earn a spot in the top league.

we demand that players train to be the absolute best they can be, to push themselves further every day usually at the detriment of their health and well being. The consequence of failure to do so is the loss of employment, and the stigma remaining attached that can harm future employment prospects.
yet here we are continually letting the people in charge get away with nothing short of sub standard performance off the park. why?
the biggest gripe 'people' have about the league is that there has been very little improvement year to year in the standard of play, crowds, tv ratings and all the other measurables we tend to use. but how do we get better when we have a league that actually stifles achievement and rewards/panders to the bottom feeders. think about what exactly is the motivation for the gypos to succeed? there is none. players get paid regardless, the licence never moves, but the overall product suffers.
this is what the owners have been fighting for all along, they want the ability to run things their way.The ones wanting to take responsibility arent doing it in the hope of bringing in more regulation. they want a free for all, they want more players, better players, more chance at revenue and to give the league more of a chance to prosper. most of these people are from business backgrounds that wouldnt think twice about running a competitor into the ground because thats how business works. now for them to come into a league where we have the FFA saying 'go easy on the shit teams', their collective heads must be spinning trying to understand the logic.
cut the shit loose, let the 'good' teams invest in themselves and build a stronger league.
the gypos wont be missed. and if theres a 2nd/3rd or 4th division let them back in there and they can earn their way back. we all have to earn everything in life, its not a new concept.
Ummmm.. wtf?
Stajic to gypos allegedly?

They have nothing more going for them than the Fury or Gold Coast had. At the end of the day the A League is a product and if you keep putting up crap like the Mariners are as part of your product don't be surprised when those who support the game via sponsorship start pulling the plug on there investments.
Anybody advocating for the Mariners to continue inclusion is putting at risk the marketability of the A League as a whole all for a club that can't be half arsed helping itself. Why should others give a fig for this mob when they fail time and time again to get there shit together and lift there game on and off the park.
poor bastard has bills to pay
you feel for a man in that situation
