thought Id check the plastic palace today. ground nice n smooth. seems ok. Not much room at either end for chasing the ball past the goal line before hitting that black net.

How is the grass is under foot for slide tackles and quick turning.

Wonder if there are anymore large grandstands being put in?

Down 4-0 at the half the only good thing I can say to come out of the first half for me was I saved a pen and wasn't sent off for losing my shit early.
Medowie slackened in the second half and we grabbed a few late goals.

Hope all goes well and for a speedy recovery for the Medowie keeper who left the field late with a suspected broken leg.
Heard the crack when the Medowie keep attempted to save a goal. Those stretchers seemed a little flimsy.

Yeah bloody hell being at the other end I didn't have a clue what was going on. Must have fallen really awkwardly when attempting the save.

Ground being wet made it good for slide tackles, would burn the shit out of you on a hot day

Turning didn't seem too bad, got hot and heavy pretty quickly but

    Not a fan myself really

Brons was one. Second yellow was deserved. First was soft as. Other bloke was not our keeper. Our boys fault but that ref is a douche. Small man syndrome. Massive effort to play whole game with 9 men and be very competitive in our first hit of the season with heaps of new guys.
Also I loved the pitch. Got used to the low bounce and rolled like carpet. Slide tackles were fun in the wet. Wouldn't be doing them in the dry. Was heavy sure but would rather that over heaps of fields I've played on

The rocks on the sideline is a big concern to me, they aren't that far away from the sideline and has the potential to do serious damage to anybody

Field 2 especially poor for the spectator. Grandstands badly positioned, need more viewing access from the side of each ground

Mayfield United ZPL 17-1 Dudley-Redhead United (ZL3). Was 5-1 at half-time. Big mismatch there

Also Thornton Redbacks were up 2-1 at half-time against Cessnock City.

Last game of the round saw Valentine defeat Lake Macquarie City 8-3. Looks like Valentine will do well in NewFM this season.

Overall great facilities and set up by NNSW. Awesome for first up promo. Aside all just turn on or connect the ac or exhaust set up in the change rooms.
    We have been saved.

So how many of you have gone off early with outlandish predictions of doom & gloom based on one early season cup match?

I overhead the facility manager, Kean Marshall, on the Sat during later games. To paraphrase they do in fact have a license, it was a decision by Northern not to sell alcohol, the Cafe and the concrete area just outside are licenced NOT the entire facility. There were concerns as to how effectively that could be policed on days with so many people and from so many varying divisions.

That was as he picked up a ten pack carton of empty Bundaberg rum and those who drank it admitted they bought it in and walked straight past their "vigilant" security at the front.
