    Last season is was that you could make 2 substitutions in the first half, 4 at half time, and 2 in the second half. Where that got that idea from, I have no idea.

    I think that substitute thing that was in place last year is quite enough. Doesn't need another change.

    Anyway at least 3rd grade can be full of club stalwarts again. 23's is out isn't it?

    yeah was done away with last year. A few clubs still used 3rd grade as mostly 23's with a couple of older blokes though.

    Early days.. But are there any predictions for the season?

    Also with a couple of big games this weekend for New Lambton, Bero, Jesmond and the Suns in the FFA Cup.

    I saw some Suburbs boys huffing and puffing in the heat today. pity the sprinklers weren't on the top field as well.

    Was a bit warm yesterday! Nothing in comparison to Motown last weekend (36+)

    No point watering the top field. We put a total of 16 hours on it the day before + on game day two weeks ago, by first grade it was back to its normal cement feel anyway

    poor roi. stuff it, juniors will love it & toughen em up.

    Suns will be contenders as long as they keep their cool.
    Bero will be tough to.
    Uni have had a few good trials.
    Could be a good Zpl year with most teams competitive on their day.

    Trial game from last weeked..
    Suns v Bero ZL1
    First grade: Suns 10-1
    Ressies: Suns 2-1
    Thirds:7-0

    Suns also have a trial game tonight in all three grades against Edgy at Edgy.

    Interesting. There has been plenty of talk about Suns so far.
    Ill think Mayfield will do it this year. They were great last season and i think will be better again.

    Based purely on results ive heard and last seasons performances....
