If they didn't already have an 8 goal lead on their nearest in the GD stakes, I would disagree... but they will start Nabbout and scrap out a 3-0 win.

If MV don't win by at least 4 then there should be an investigation into betting trends. Corruption will be the only legit reason why it is not a slaughter.

Can easily see Victree resting their key players on Friday.

They have 2 games in Brisbane next week to play V Roar a few days apart.

That being the case those points are gonna be hard to get and a little more important in their destiny.

Can see their lesser lights get a run. Towel us up from minute 1 onwards but struggle to convert the dominance into goals and scrape a tight win

we all should have put $10 on the Jets to lose every game this year - we wouldn't be rolling in cash but we would at least have gotten something out of this enormous clusterfůck

No Kanta or Caravella, interesting! Pepper has been the worst of the three when they've played CM together IMO - wonder who will partner Pepper there this week. Maybe Welsh - Stubbins loves to do that. Maybe someone else with the right connexions..
    OK

i reckon he might put cowburn at cm, move regan or mullen to right and put his best mate gallagher in the centre

or if hes got some balls he will put little kanta there, but that could ruin his career before it started with having to mark a middle and forward 5 of Berisha, Kosta, Ben Khal, milligan, valeri

Wonder whatever happened to the definite Stubbins signing (not his squad though), Travis Cooper? Poor bloke can't get in the squad ahead of Burgess.

Will probably be Gallagher or Welsh in mid with Pepper. Given we are going to lose, he could also drop Pepper to the bench and just play both the crappy defenders as midfielders in front of a back 4. Wouldn't surprise me in the slightest

Might sit back with a pizza and a bottle of red.

In the words of Ken Arthurson - "if you know you are gonna be raped, you might as well lie back and try to enjoy it."

    Opta stats...

    Melbourne Victory v Newcastle Jets
*Melbourne Victory’s Hyundai A-League games have seen 78 goals scored in 2014-15; more than any other club.
*Newcastle Jets have hit fewer shots overall (190 excl. blocked) and the least on target (95) of any other Hyundai A-League side this season, although they have hit the woodwork a league-high 14 times.
*Victory have lost just one of their last seven Hyundai A-League meetings with Newcastle Jets (W3 D3 L1).
*The Jets have not kept a clean sheet in any of their last 13 A-League games against Melbourne Victory – their last coming back in September 2010.

    cooper is dead set shit.

No more querying on this bloke required.

The bloke isn't good enough for our team FFS

    More importantly where is Lundy??
Bloke gets 2 subs runs and then is nowhere to be seen. You would think the Muppet would be keen to give the likes of Lundy Crowley etc a go if his moving forward bullwhip is to be believed

    Peter O'Leary is tonight's referee

    W-D-L record is 3-1-3. He's never officiated a Jets v Victory match.

He's pretty even with the cards, issuing 14 yellows to Jets players and 12 to opposition. He's sent one opposition player off.

He's awarded two penalties - one for the Jets and one for the opposition.

The last Jets match he officiated was a Round 7 this year. It was a 1-1 draw with the Wanderers.

I quite like O'Leary as a referee. Generally he lets play go and plays the advantage. He allows challenges to be put in and really doesn't take crap from the players.
