Hoole was used in various positions in the Youth team and while capable he did not stand out as being a class above everyone else.

With respect to Messi I totally disagree with you. While he might not have suited the role of a central defender as soon as he started to move forward with the ball or received a pass people would have known he was special.

It still doesn't mean I think the way Hoole was used by the club was fair either. Then again, Hoole is in a long list of players the Jets have tried to play in positions that did not suit them,
GVE for example tried to make a striker out of a defensive midfielder and the kid copped shit from you lot because he couldn't score goals.

I used to watch a lot of Youth games 3 years back and Hoole to me was a "standout" in most of them.....not always but probably more than others but generally when he got the ball there was that sense of expectation that HE was the player to make things happen. Here he was playing RB, he would get the ball well inside his own half facing his own goal with an opposition player on his back. In a split second he would feint to go one way but would quickly spin to go the other way and was away with the ball leaving his opponent in his wake and looking to attack the opposition....and I would be thinking "What the fark is this kid being wasted at RB"!!!!

Leandro Bonfim - great Youtube highlights package, not many South Americans have played in the Eredivisie. Doubt its him though, would have been a signing worthy of GVE
