How did he fail. Nix fans rated him. But for an import they wanted more thats why he was cut there. Now that he's an Aussie he would be a pretty good player for our squad considering our cap limitations. Can cover a number of positions and would clasify as a mature age rookie.

Leaky Gee will be a gun for us this season, heard he is the fittest player in the team and is absolutley tearing it up at training now that he has had a full off-season to prepare. Heard from a journo and another sauce too that the intensity level is unlike anything it has been for a number of years. JPD runs the sessions and constantly drives the players with no let-up, which as a supporter is something you want to here. This season was all about changing the whole approach and mentality of the players and by the sound of it, we are on the right track anyway. Not making any bold predictions or anything just saying what I've heard.

Can you imagine how good some of our former great prospects might be with decent fitness?

His last two contracts have been in the VPL and playing bush football in North Queensland ffs.

I'd rather see a local given a go rather than bring in someone who had their chance and was relegated back to playing VPL and the like.

You seem to be missing the point though... he was previously a visa player. When you can only have 5 of them, teams wouldn't go for an average/marginally above average import. Now that he is Australian, he might be seen as a far better option than a local hack.

Who was the last local to score a goal per game in NNSW NPL?

    Goodwin, Chapman, Neville.

Maybe Cooper will play 90 minutes for the first time in his Jets career this year!

I was thinking even players still with us like Kanta. He's not looked professional sportsman fit for years.

Herbert cut him half way into the season with the nix so it had sfa to do with him being a visa player.

Injuries have not allowed him to maintain his fitness either. So until he gets over the injuries he won't be able to push himself anyway.

First photo of Leonardo at training. Not wearing the number 9. Either:
    1. Club too useless to arrange for correctly numbered training kit to be ready for him, or
    2. He has the correct number on and the club is still searching for another number 9.

    The truth is out there.....

The truth is he was signed as our ATTACKING MIDFIELDER not striker. Hence why he wouldnt be our 9.

Hey, at least he's wearing a kit. It's an improvement on what has been claimed in the past - re: Des Giraldi.

But hey, it's easy to bash the club for everything.

Mark Jones was running the drills this morning. They were over at Uni No.3
Good level of intensity. Changing around one touch drills with 2 players inside 5 others,
stretches and exercises in between. Looked better that the Stubbins sessions I saw anyway to make a
    comparison with. (callin' the Captain??)
Grant Matthews was in the middle of coring both James Watt fields this morning when I had a chat with him.
The lads will be on No3 for the next two weeks, if anyone is interested in having a gander.
GM said JW will be out for that time frame with the renos...
Kick @ss coring machine he has too btw.

Miller just said on the news that talks are ongoing with a striker but should be resolved in the next 2-3 days. Also said the player is currently playing so he probably means he is currently contracted to a club and they are negotiating a release rather than the player is a current international playing in a friendly or qualifier this international weekend.
