    KEY FACTS:
    General
    • The Jets last win came against Melbourne City was the second time they have come from behind at half time to win, and the first from being 2 goals down.
    • City scored 5 goals in their last visit to Hunter Stadium
    • Newcastle have been scoreless in the first half of the last 8 matches. This equals the previous record which was set last season.
    • Both the Jets and the visiting team have entered the sheds scoreless at half time in 12 of the last 18 home matches.
    • There is, on average, more than 3 goals per match when these two teams meet and only one match has had fewer than 2 goals.

    Players
    • Mark Birrighitti has kept 2 clean sheets in his 3 home appearances against Melbourne City
    • Milos Trifunovic hasn't had a shot in his last 2 appearances.
    • The Jets have been adjudged offside 5 times in each of the last two matches

    Coaches
    • December has recently been a tough month for Jets coaches. In the previous 4 seasons, the Jets have won 5, drawn 1 and lost 13 matches during the festive period.
    • However, the Jets remained winless in November for the second consecutive year.
    • Miller's Jets continue to be the tightest defensive team in Jets history, conceding 1.1 goals per match so far this season.
    • However, they remain the least disciplined, with an average of 2.6 yellow cards per match. The team's discipline may be improving because they have only received 1 booking in the last 2 matches.

    • The Jets have won only one game at home in 2015.

If ever there was a team we should play two strikers against it's City. They always leak goals and there is also the fact they would have trained all week expecting us to only play with a lone striker.

If JVS is reading the Foz to work out his tactical approach to deal with our shit team this Sunday then he may as well quit.

Millertime on the other hand could learn a thing or two by reading the foz

    Will go to usual script...

    * Firstly game will be boring overall
    * We will not attack in the first 10 mins
    * Mooy will be strangely quiet
    * Triff will miss a sitter
    * Birraz will mess up a cross
    * We will scamble two goals inside the six yard box
    * There will be one moment of huge controversy
    * Leo will get injured
    * We will be leading by two
    * MC score with 15 mins remaining
    * Usual squeaky bum time
    * Win 2-1 and we are contenders once more

Ridiculous to think we beat them 3-2 only a couple weeks back in late October.

Now they have won 5-1 last 2 games.

You know when the last time we scored a goal inside the first 10 minutes was? 3/11/2012 which was a Tiago goal away to Perth.

    We are notoriously slow starters

Probably because we refuse to take any initiative in the game.

Ffs it took 40 mins for us to actually create a chance at home last time out

How about for once we come charging out the blocks and batter the **** out of our opponent.

We may not score but guarantee we get the crowd on side

Refuse is probably the wrong word. We just don't have the quality to really compete.
I don't think its by choice that we aren't attacking much!

We never done it under Muppet or GVE either.

We always came out of the blocks slowly

Under Zane we at least showed a little more intent when playing at home.

It has been a long time really since our side has come out at home with the attacking intention to stick it to our opponent.

    Far too long.

It should be every game that in the first 15-20 mins we start with energy and intent and play with a passion that shows the opponent they are in for a tough game against us. But no we just park the bus start sloppy and bore our opponent into submission and we then finally start playing when space opens up and they realise they are playing our game not theirs.

I would like to see us try do something different from the kickoff and at least surprise the opposition - play 3-4-3 or 4-4-2 and just get the ball into the box as quickly as possible.

Watching our first 10 mins is like the first session of a test match sometimes, but you remember those tests when someone comes out and has a go from ball one. Of course it won't always come off but at least make the effort now and then.

Oh come on this is the same horseshit we heard during the GVE era.
Coach is a coward and if he can't get the players he has to play to their strengths then he's failed and should get the **** out.

    Bang On

Give our opponent something to think about from the off.

We are ridiculously predictable and start at a slow pace and slow tempo. We don't even have the gears to go through really to stretch out in style.

If we start slowly and with a degree of lethargy it transcends through the entire game.
If we start like a house on fire the players get the crowd on side and gain confidence and add in a reward on the scoreboard and the tone is set for the rest of the game

    Go hard early.

imo GVE had one off the best teams on paper in his last year since the GF win.

miller in comparison doesn't have the same squad.

I think miller is playing to our strengths by being defensive.

we can either go 2 routes.

play like we are, nick a result, draw a lot of games and lose by no more then 1-2 goals max

or we can go the gypos way

    lose 5-3 but "entertain"

its going to take at least another a season till we can be competitive in terms of an attacking sense imo.
