hmm, will it increase the quality at all though??

Life isn't the same without Con... but it can only improve without Tinks...
now not that im gonna admit to being an avid reader of the Comrade Times aka Newcastle Herald but i found this quote fascinating:
if this in fact 'has' been his mantra from the start then he deserves great credit for getting the team moving towards this point, because from where they were to where they are is a massive improvement.“This would have been our pre-season [in terms of time]. We are 11 weeks in and I am happy with where we are at. We have constantly worked on playing out and our technique under pressure.
of course if he is just saying it after the fact then its a bit of mindless grandstanding.
ill give him the benefit of the doubt.
There are a few performances that suggest otherwise...
Wouldnt be against keeping Kanta. Likewise with BK, provided they are moved outside the cap. That would free up something like $250k, and with the Cap increase, suddenly we have at least $500k more to play with, while keeping our 2 longest serving players and keeping the locals happy.
Lee needs to start using every concession he can, doesn't have to be a 2 mill a season Marquee, but the little work arounds outside the Cap that are available will allow more quality players to be signed within the Salary Cap.
All this will do is help the Smurfs Wankers Heart Victree get better marquees and fit more players under the cap
At the moment there is a growing disparity between the bigger clubs and the smaller clubs
Smurfs and Heart aren't exactly well run clubs. They just achieving success based on wealthy owners funding them.
All this new system does is help them get further ahead.
It doing nothing for Gypos and Phoenix. Like what an extra couple hundred grand going to do when the Gypos ain't interested in spending the full salary cap now??
Smeltz to Wello. We should thank them for saving us.
It will increase the gap between the teams that have money and the teams that don't. It will effectively allow the bigger clubs to bring in an extra Marquee standard player and for the regional clubs it will essentially just place wages pressure on their existing player base.
The best system would be to get rid of the salary cap, remove restrictions on foreign players, and simply let the market sort it out.
Under the current system regional clubs are essentially bidding for the players the bigger clubs rejected. Moreover, they are not only buying weaker players - they are also forced to pay too much for them.
By removing restrictions on foreign players the supply increases and all else equal the price must fall for a given standard of player.
Completely unrelated, but this from the abc app.... Regions cheaper than capital cities
The cheapest beer cost just $1.39 per 100ml at Hunter Stadium in Newcastle, followed by Canberra's Manuka Stadium at $1.46.
The most expensive place to buy a drink was Perth's Subiaco Oval at $2.42 per 100ml, followed by Adelaide Oval at $2.09.
Thought you all might like to smash that up a bit. Ta
Is that because Adelaide and Perth actually serves beer and we serve beer coloured soft drink?
The cost isn't relevant unless the products are identical.
Well given the beer at hunter is piss, you can read the story and see that around the country and compared to overseas we are paying too much for shitty crap beer. Just sayin.

The problem of selling mid strength to calm down the "riff raff" is discussed. There are links to other articles too...most interesting.
It's worse than that. When Schooners were less than a $1 I had no troubles picking up hot women between 18 and 25 years old. At current prices no female under 50 will even look at me let alone get naked for me. Hence, as beer prices have increased it appears that women have got a lot fussier about who they have sex with. It's a national disgrace and yet what is the FFA or the government doing about it ? Absolutely nothing.
Janjetovic to Wanderers apparently.....The dream of seeing Andrew Redmayne in a Jets shirt gets one step closer.
