We're in the middle of a really important period of our season. We have 3 matches with fellow 6th spot contenders - playing Wellington, Perth and Adelaide. If we win these 3 matches we are back in with a shout. Lose this weekend and we are back in 9th again.

If we are going to take anything from the season we need to win this game.

Perth are going to be similar to Wellington in so much as they are missing Djulbic (injury) and Thwaite (transfer). Their young defender Collard is suspended too. Plus they have Marc Warren in their line up so if that's not an advantage for us I don't know what is.

I think we can back last weekend's result up this week.

I'd be playing Cowburn in Kantaroski's place this week and after another week's rest I'd consider where Leonardo fits. If we stick with the 4-4-2 then play Kitto. If we return to normal service I'd play Leonardo.

We need to play the same formation and tactics we used against the phoenix but if heaven forbid he plays watson then all hell will be unleashed on the coaches dugout next sunday. i wouldnt start leo at yet either give him time off the bench to see how much he wants the starting spot and atm id have cooper higher in the pecking order

If Miller puts out 4-4-2 week after week we will get torn apart! Its a formation to use against certain teams (perth is probably one of them) but 4-4-2 against Victory, for instance, wouldn't end well i don't think.

    Why wouldn't it work??

You have two blokes up front you keep their over lapping fullbacks interested as they are afraid to push on all day as they are worried about the numbers at the back.

There goes a lot of their width in attack straight away

4-3-3 keeps wingbacks much more entertained imo

I think we have a chance against Perth. They are doing just as poorly as us on the table and in the last 5 rounds.

I also think its interesting that its round 16 and this is our first meeting Perth, yet we've played Sydney FC three times already. Maybe we have had a harder run of opposition up to this point?

PS. This is my first time posting after stalking these forums for a while, so Hi Everyone!

We'll lose. We never win in Perth. Even when we're playing well. (Which is never)..

2-0 to the purple has my money.

Just out of interest Jeterpool, last week we scored 2 goals in the first half. Before that, when was the last time we did it?

Rd 22 last year v Wanderers. Alivodic and Ki-je scored.

At home it was Rd 5 last year v Victory. Kew and Griff scored within 2 minutes of each other.

Well said jeterpool. Definitely a winnable game on sunday I just hope last weeks game gave the boys abit of a confidence boost.

Going for a 2-0 win to Newcastle here.
