Some players weigh in on the debate... and condemn it.

Seems a little scripted or predictable from the WSW and timed well to come out before just before the deadline to show cause before the FFA deal out any punishment. All trying to distance themselves from the idiots who caused the issue and build a case its a not fans of the club doing it.

I'll be sitting back with some popcorn when the punishment (if any) is handed out.

They have bought the detonators to Newcastle before, I was amazed nothing was done about it that time. I can see that irrespective of the punishment, the people involved will probably try and ramp it up somewhere as a F$CK YOU to the FFA.

Every time the WSW fans light a flare the FFA cut off one of Mark Bridge toes. Once they get to thirteen flares the FFA then start cutting off his fingers.

    Solved.

In summary - please don't hurt us, it's not fair to punish us for our fans!

They’ve done nothing wrong in this instance, and penalising the club doesn’t eradicate the problem. The problem is not within the club.
Seemed to work fairly well in the UK and other parts of the world.

Football Federation Australia (FFA) has today fined the Western Sydney Wanderers $50,000 and imposed a suspended three (3) competition point deduction after finding the club guilty of bringing the game into disrepute following the misconduct of some of its supporters last Saturday.
The sanction has been handed down after FFA found some Western Sydney Wanderers fans took part in a pre-meditated and coordinated series of incidents including the ignition of flares and detonators and the display of unauthorised banners.
Where a serious incident occurs that FFA determines should trigger the suspended sanction, the Club will immediately lose three points in the Hyundai A-League. This will apply to incidents that occur in or around any matches the club participates in and will be in place for a period of 12 months, through to 6 February 2017.
“The events of last Saturday night and the coordinated misconduct of a section of Western Sydney Wanderers fans cannot be tolerated by anyone in Australian football,” said FFA CEO David Gallop.
“The misconduct was not only dangerous and threatening but the coordinated and calculated way the fans behaved was a serious blight on the reputation of football and everyone involved in our game including clubs, members, fans, players and officials.

Nor do I. I think it's ok. A little too late (it's been happening since their first match), but OK.

Geez I hope they rip a flare here in a few weeks - make sure we film it cos Fux will try to ignore it (especially if Cock is commentating).

There is now a high risk of home fans penetrating WSW away section and rip one

I think you'll find there might all of a sudden be some self policing in the away area.

Exactly. If a drop in lights a flare then they will be outed. The fact nobody is outing the WSW guys doing it now implies that they are not drop ins.

RBB made a pretty limp statement.

If you want to read it in full find yourself.

    Summary:

    Others do it too
    We are picked on
    It's the medias fault
Individuals are responsible for their own actions (we won't self police)
And about 15 veiled threats to the FFA that boycotts will happen again if they don't get what they want after the FFA meeting on feb19

Response form other wsw fans was pretty good though. Most called them out for the billshit they're spinning.
