Turnbull is not interested in winning the next election. His time as PM will be used to do favours for his plutocrat mates.

He still has close ties with Goldman Sachs and for anyone with even the most basic understanding of the GFC that's not a good thing.

HE was also neck deep in the poo when HIH collapsed.

Dark days ahead for most of us - but happy days indeed for the plutocrats.

Turnbull was Packers bitch for many years. He then moved on to become a Goldman Sachs lap dog.

His wealth while great in your eyes is a piss in the ocean compared to what Goldman Sachs are valued at.

Make no mistake, Turnbull will be pushing hard to establish a Carbon Emissions derivatives trading scheme in Australia - and he will be using Goldman Sachs to set it up.

They will make a lot of money for very little effort.

If he fails to make good for his masters they will kick him to the curb.

So what's your thoughts on a Trump/Clive Palmer type character running for the top job?

    Good or bad?

Yeah but isn't politics like 2 degrees of separation from pretty much every big business/union/former pollie anyway.

He could use any financial institution and there'd be links to his personal affairs, as would most Libs and prob a lot of Labor. Same as Shorten doing anything with industrial relations, it's always "Bhah he's looking after his union mates derp derp".

Not sure what he's supposed to do in that situation.

Plus the narrative on Mal is how he stared down the British govt and handed their asses to him over that spy case. I'd say he made a lot of money out of Kerry Packer, not sure who exactly wins in that situation but there didn't seem to be any losers.

When I looked up Packers 'bitch' in the dictionary there was a photo of Mark Arbib and Carl Bitar there.

If you regard GS as "any financial institution" then your business experience is nickel and dime shit at best. GS don't deal with governments they own them.

It's no different to treating everyone with a degree as homogenous which you have done on multiple occasions. Your comparison was silly to say the least given Bill Shorten has less connections than my local Fruit and Vege shop.

He could use any financial institution and there'd be links to his personal affairs, as would most Libs and prob a lot of Labor. Same as Shorten doing anything with industrial relations, it's always "Bhah he's looking after his union mates derp derp".
GS are not just any company. They have been around for over 100 years and in that time they have been very influential on how monetary policy is conducted in many countries.
Not only that, but there are also other things like transfer pricing which you may or may not understand. Businesses like GS, EY, and PWC to a much lesser extent specialise in such practices. For them to be successful they must either capture a regulator or install their own man as a regulator. [ Turnbull is their man - he doesn't need to be captured because he's one of them already].
Rather than make these types of business accountable for their actions governments have enabled LLR policies to bail them out when bubbles burst.
As such, the playing field is unfair because they can enter into very high risk investments knowing that they will ALWAYS BE BAILED OUT by the LLR policies of the Central Bank.
It's very easy to obey the law when the laws are customised to suit your business practices and it's even easier when you are stamped as Too Big to Fail.
The trend will continue under Turnbull - although given how sympathetic he is to their cause I would suggest it will happen in a much more rapid fashion.
The rules will be changed to better accommodate the plutocrats and we [ meaning everyone else] will be left to fight over the crumbs.

It's pointless even voting with this shit happening.

Plutocracy. Which is the system that replaced capitalism around 40 years ago.
Noam Chomsky would be a good place to start if you were interested.
Or if you are feeling historic George Orwell who had a rather good grasp of things well before he had any right to.

Dunster (a well educated and experienced man) subscribes to the theory that 99% of the worlds money is controlled by 4 families (well it used to be 4 but now it's out to 8 or 13 depending on who you believe). You might be familiar with some of the names like Rockafeller, Rothschild and Hawk. These people and their network are the 'plutocrats' that he refers to. These plutocrats with thier BIG CORPORATIONS and GOVERNMENT STOOGES make slaves like us work all day then take all our PROFITS FOR THEMSELVES.
A lot of people believe this to be true and there are countless studies and papers dedicated to proving this.
There are also a lot of people who believe that jet fuel can't melt steel beams, Lee Harvey Oswsld can't fire 3 shots in 6 seconds, and that Mark Bridge scored the winner for the Jets in the grand final. There are also countless stories and papers dedicated to these issues.

The problem is that that there is a difference between Dunster telling us this IS how the world works rather than Dunster saying this is how HE BELIEVES this is the way the world works.

Now, I love plutocrats as much as the next bloke, he's one of my favourite Disney characters, but the point that I'm trying to get across to him is this:

    I.dont.care.

I really don't, and here's why. As the son of a boat person I've been lucky enough to be born and raised in this country. I've managed to carve out a lovely life for myself (with no plutocrat mates) so that when I want something I can generally go get it.

If I want to go to a jets game or a World Cup or a casino or a drug dealer, once I hand my money over I don't care where it goes. I've got my lap dance/gram of coke/car so who cares.

Now, having said that we need people of Dunsters ilk in our midst to help us all #STAYWOKE so that the EVIL CORPORATIONS stay on notice. Skynet is coming sheeple, believe that.

Now, if you'll excuse me I'm off to Vegas for a week to spend some of my hard earned on the aforementioned pleasures. I sure hope the pilot isn't too distracted by the reflections from the tin foil hats from my fellow earthlings. I won't get to read the undoubted dismissive condescending backhanded reply but I'll try to get to it once I get back.

See you for the season opener lads.

    Ta,
    Plague.

(Oh and bow at the alter of Chomsky all you wish but he hates Taylor Swift and Prince so he has no real idea what's up with what's up).
