Dear Jets HQ, FFA and NCC can we try a little experiment and play this game at No2?

    Thanks Curious Premy.

Couldn't tell you truthfully, it always seems to look good but looks can be deceiving.

Awwww come on it's not a proper Jets pre-season til someone is bitching about Magic getting all the favours from the Jets/NNSW.

Ok if Magic are allowed to run the game but play it at No#2 I'll consider supporting your idea.

So you want to play it on a chopped up Rugby field in the middle of winter in the arse end of Newy midweek and presumably put money into the coffers of the council or Rugby instead of local football??

    Terrible idea

Agree - how about giving this game to Coffs and giving us back our MC (Fornaroli, Timmy and other superstar to be named), 20,000 crowd game back?

No **** that play all our games there

Playing games in NNSW and taking them away from rank and file supporters to cater for a bunch of hill Billie's who live 400km away from Newy is a great idea according to some people

Don't start bleating about it now it looks like the fans will miss out on seeing Timmy and co play in Newy

I started this crusade at the beginning the joke of an idea was mooted

    Yes...

Do you know it's chopped up?

If West Newcastle is the arse of Newy, then what does that make Broadmedow?

It's going to be midweek wherever it is played.

Yes putting money into Council coffers and possibly Rugby, please tell me how that's any different to a regular home game where we put money into State Government and West Leagues Club coffers?

I would like to see how the venue and location would cope with a decent size crowd and see if it's feasible to upgrade the capacity and move there permanently.

Touching on a subject that been discussed before on here. Various studies have shown playing in the heart of a CBD is better for crowds and match day experience. I would much rather like to see us long term playing in the CBD rather than a inner city suburb.

For a start West Newcastle is the arse end of Newy
    Broadmeadow is much more centralised

As for playing in a CBD making a better experience then this is OK if you have public transport which we don't
It is also useful if you have a decent city centre which we don't

As for the playing surface. A game played in the depths of winter in Newy played on a field by a sport which chops the field up significantly with all the rucks mauls scrums etc you don't need to even go look at it to know it will be in much inferior condition than required

Now let's just acknowledge we have had a good run with rain in recent weeks in Newy.
Those rugby boys get some rain like today or a bit heavier then they are going to make a mess of it for us. Magic park on the other hand will not get destroyed as much by playing in the wet
