    Post Jetstream Podcast - Interviews

Firstly massive kudos to Jeterpool who has been organising and conducting interviews in the last few weeks with ex-Jets players in order to alleviate the boredom of the offseason
If you havent already, please go to the front page of the website and check out the recent podcasts with Ryan Griffiths, Taylor Regan and Zenon Caravella. All very interesting to listen to for a variety of reasons.

Now, in the coming weeks we have a number of other interviewees lined up and we are opening it up to Jets supporters to post up any questions they would like asked during the podcast.
We have Vaughan Coveny and Ned Zelic scheduled in the (hopefully) next week, and then (again, hopefully) in the next fortnight or so we will be sitting down with Lawrie McKinna and Scott Miller (separately of course) to interview them as well.
So if you have any questions you would like asked, please post them up here, and make sure you specify who the question is for.

    For Laurie....

Do you envisage in the future looking at the posssiblity of having Members of the club who contribute with a Membership fee and have a voice on such things as colours, kick-off times/days, playing games away from Hunter stadium etc.
This was raised at the Member's Forum last year and many indicated that they would be interested in becoming true Members of the club on top of the current glorifed "season ticket-holder".
You get for example just 2,000 Members paying say $150/season....that's $300,000 into the club's coffers...certainly nothing to sneeze at.

For Scott Miller What are the key qualities you are looking for in players for this season? And can we expect to see Nick Cowburn in midfield at all the season?

    For the Gypo CEO

Which of your players cried after the GF??
How did it feel to be on the receiving end of the Jets success back in the day??
Are the players getting a communal kitchen??
Can we not get anything as lame as Giant Sauce Bottles on match days??
    When are you quitting??

Surely there has to be more questions than this!? When do you get the chance to pot a question to the coach or incoming CEO about their plans for next year? Direction of the club? Possible recruits?

The club have been good enough to give us access so I hope we get some more responses

Being the club has to find 3 Yoof players for the HAL and so far hasn't bothered promoting from with in the EJ
What exactly needs to improve with the EJ program so in the future the club doesn't have to look outside the EJ to find 3 kids to progress to the HAL??

(Please don't let him say money. Ask him for details of things he thinks that can be improved that cost little cash)

Does our abysmal home record concern him??
What steps has he put in place to see our players aim up much better and protect their home ground record??

When holding leads are we going to be much more proactive in actually trying to score in the last 20mins. Far too often we get in front and park the bus trying to hold on to the final whistle and ignore any attempt to counter with speed and finish the game by increasing the scoreboard advantage

Has he heard of a bloke by the name of Kale Bradbery and why has he not signed him??

Has he heard of a bloke by the name of Joel Griffiths and why has he not signed him??

What exactly is on the wish list the club doesn't have at the moment that you are hoping to talk Martin Lee into coughing up for??

Do you regret taking so long last season to have a go rather than park the bus??
We looked much better when we tried to dominate games

What did you learn about coaching at this level that you were not aware of last season that will be put into practice this season ??

Can you get some one at the club to get these Jet shaped hats sorted??

Any chance we can beat Perth this season?? Well if not win how about getting a draw or just forfeiting ??

Have you spoken to our Centre Backs and worked on ways they can avoid getting sent off all the time??

Are you aware that we never won a game against any of the NSW based teams last season??
The Gypos don't count that is expected

    To Lawrie

Is the game against Mel City at Coffs Harbour set in stone or can it be changed?
More and more it looks likely that Cahill will go there, meaning that the Jets could potentially be giving up a crowd at Hunter stadium of 20 who knows 25,000 plus for the game against Mel City featuring Cahill. Coffs Stadium only holding 10,000 this is not a good "business" decision and one I'm sure new owner Martin Lee would not be overly impressed about either if it happens.

    To Loz Dog.

Any chance that Lee is open to community ownership in the long term?

What measures will be taken to engage with the local business community to sure up the long term viability of the club? - we can't survive long term on Chinese money.

Other than the forum announced for july20 what steps will the club take in the future to ensure more fans get heard?

Are there plans to ramp community engagement through schools? - are you aware of how few organized football tournaments exist inside school sport in comparison to other sports and in particular other football codes?

What's going to happen to the emerging jets? - when will it be at a point where the best kids get in, not just the best of those who can afford it?

Stadium deal and pourage and catering rights.... When is this situation likely to be reexamined and renegotiated in favour of our bottom line and not someone else's?

Do you know Tim Thorne? (Currently at Cronulla Sharks, previously of WSW and CCM) Can you get him to move to Newy and help the club?

How do you plan to make the F3 derby an a-league game fans and commentators look forward to again. i.e seasons 1-4/5ish? you could argue it was the best derby in the league

To Scott: What qualities do you see in our recent recruits who tested themselves overseas at a young age (Ugarkovic + Vujica) - do you think they are more complete players than locally based players of the same age? Do you see any similarities to your own career where you had to fight through the coaching ranks in England?

For either Scott or (Probably) Lawrie: How are the Jets likely to benefit from resource sharing across the "Ledman Group Football Empire"? Sharing of scouting information? Loaning fringe players to China for first team football during the a-league off season?

Q for Lawrie: what are the priorities that have been identified that need to be implemented in the initial stages under the new ownership?

    Bring back the gold!

When are we getting jet shaped hats? Can they be lit with LED in multi colours? I also want to hear the whistle of falling bombs when we score!

What are you going to do about the cash vacuum that doesn't produce payers, i.e the EJ programme? Why are kids that are good enough turned away if their parents can't pay?

How would the owner feel about setting up a Football School (like the IFS but better run as they are coasties after all) as a boarding school/academy for local and Chinese kids?

    For Scott

How do you justify the signing of Nabbout when you have stated that NPL players aren't up to it? Nabbout has already demonstrated that he is not HAL standard. Why recycle other club's failures? Why not try someone fresh? Heard of Jamie Vardy?

In light of our upcoming FFA Cup game. How can the fans be expected to believe you are treating the thing as anything more than a training run. The lack of trials and a lack of competitive trials by the club in recent years leading into this game suggests the club couldn't give two ****s about being match ready for this game and hence we don't win a game in a competition that could actually garner a ****ing trophy

In light of his comments about the strength of the local NPL and where it rates between the NSW and Victoria leagues Why does no one at the club seem to know where it rates for strength

. How come he can disregard the local NPL players as not good enough yet one of the sides pumped 10 past the clubs NYL side last weekend??

    For Gypo CEO

Being it would seem the Local NPL is inferior what are the club looking at doing in getting the EJ to play in the Sydney league as it is a superior test for the kids??

What is being done by the club to do something about the plethora of shit timeslots we get at home games from the FFA whilst other clubs are giving the plum timeslots week in week out. Where the **** are our Friday and Saturday night games.
Why the **** should we constantly be subjected to sitting in the 5 pm Saturday slot 70% of the time??

You want to make the fans happy then bring back the gold and the E&C.

Emerging Gypos play in Sydney league I think, would be great if EJ could join.... would help to build their F3 Derby DNA
