To be fair the same quotes are in the Herald. And Ram-man isn't trolling, it actually mentioned assists.

Former Negeri Sembilan winger Andrew Nabbout has joined A-League side Newcastle Jets, reported the Australian edition of Goal today.

According to the report, the 23-year old Australian, who had been released by the Premier League side during the recent June transfer window, has signed a two-year deal with the Jets, after passing a trial.

Jets' head coach Scott Miller said that Nabbout's signing will provide his side with more versatility; “His [Nabbout’s] ability to play numerous positions in the final third is attractive, and his addition will provide the coaching staff with flexibility in regards to our systems and styles of play.”

"I have a point to prove [in the A-League] and I want to repay the faith that Scott has put in me," the report quoted him as saying regarding his signing.

Nabbout had joined Negeri at the start of the 2016 season along with Australian coach Gary Phillips and Australian footballers Joel Chianese and Taylor Regan. He had previously played for another A-League side, Melbourne Victory from 2012 to 2015, scoring five goals for them in 37 matches.

Despite leading the second division as its top goalscorer and in assists, Nabbout found himself cut by the Deers in June, along with Chianese.

Regan, who previously played for the Jets from 2010 to 2015 and is currently the Negeri captain, congratulated his former teammate for joining the side.

Nabbout's new side, Newcastle Jets finished the most recent A-League season in the eighth place. After the winger's departure, Negeri have lost two back-to-back matches.

Just last week, another Australian who had been released by a Malaysian side in the June window; ex-Selangor center back Robert Cornthwaite, made his return to the A-League, by joining former AFC Champions League Western Sydney Wanderers.

That article lists him as a winger... I always thought he was a central striker?

Plays like a 2nd striker out wide. Can shoot but won't cross much.

That's good, because I wouldn't suggest our striking options would say heading is their strong point.

I believe it's written in the rules of the internet that nay photo of a player in their own bed must either be Joel, or be accompanied by this photo of Joel.

one of the A-League's somewhat numerous quiet underachievers - needs to step up big time or go home to mummy this season, did show potential earlier but needs to make the effort or will find himself playing with the juniors most of the season...
Life isn't the same without Con... but it can only improve without Tinks...
